No. 20 Women's Lacrosse Travels to No. 16 Amherst on Sunday

SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 1-7 all-time against Amherst in a series that dates back to 2007.
• The Beavers have dropped seven in a row since taking the first game of the series back in 2007.
• Sunday's game will be the first meeting between the two schools since 2020.

LAST MEETING
• Claire Dunbar scored four first-half goals to help ninth-ranked Amherst defeat Babson, 12-3, on March 8, 2020, at MacDowell Field.
• Sara O'Connor '21 scored twice and Georgia Salvatore '21 added a goal for the Beavers, who also got one assist from Erin Jayne '23. Valerie Quinlan '20 led all players with five draw controls, Juliana McGuire '21 won four, and Cricket Fligor '21 finished with 10 saves and three ground balls in the loss.
• Maia Noyes recorded two goals, two assists, three draw controls and two caused turnovers while Dani DiTommaso scored twice for the Mammoths. Kelly Siebert added two caused turnovers and the duo of Talia Land and Caroline Fischer made six saves in the win.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 20 Babson (11-1, 7-0 NEWMAC) extended its winning streak to 10 games, its longest streak since 2012, with a 10-7 defeat of No. 15 MIT on Wednesday in Cambridge.
• Juniors Amelia Novitch and Michaela Downer both scored three goals and classmate Clare Connolly led all players with 10 draw controls in the win. Junior Jessica Evans tallied two goals and graduate student Lily Ives and senior Nicole Darveau both scored once for the Beavers. Grad student Anna Costello and senior Kayleigh Hacker both recorded three caused turnovers and two ground balls, while junior goalkeeper Kathleen Murphy made seven saves in the victory.
• Ives (36-12-48) holds the team scoring lead while Novitch (24-19-43) and junior Kathryn Blake (22-17-39) are right behind. Evans (23-8-31) and Connolly (23-2-25) give the Beavers five players with at least 20 goals and Darveau (19-5-24) is one goal shy. Connolly has collected a NEWMAC-best 135 draw controls and Costello (29) and senior Eileen Manning (26) lead the team in ground balls.
• The Green and White boast a balanced defense as Costello has 29 caused turnovers while Manning (18), Hacker (18) and senior Zoë Michaud (15) are all well into double digits. Murphy has started 52 consecutive games and owns a career-best 7.42 goals against average and a .431 save percentage.

SCOUTING THE MAMMOTHS
• No. 16 Amherst (6-5, 3-4 NESCAC) brings a two-game winning streak into Saturday's conference game against Bates in Lewiston, Maine.
• First-year Mia Raven (3g, 1a) and sophomore Sofia Guttman (2g, 2a) each collected four points in Wednesday's 12-9 victory over Connecticut College, while sophomore Clara Sosa scored three goals and classmate Bridget Finley added a pair. Raven grabbed a team-high eight draw controls and four ground balls, and sophomore Jessye Salmon made nine saves in the victory.
• Raven (17-14-31) leads the Mammoths in scoring along with Sosa (19-8-27), sophomore Kate Becker (13-10-23) and Finley (20-1-21). Raven also tops the team with 54 draw controls, 20 caused turnovers and 22 ground balls. Junior Brynn Korpi has 11 caused turnovers and 20 ground balls.
• Salmon (10.71 GAA, .430 sv. pct) has started all 11 games in goal for the Mammoths and has made 77 saves.

NATIONAL STATS RANKINGS
• The Beavers are ranked 12th in Division III in scoring offense (17.00 goals/game) and eighth in scoring margin (+10.42).
• The Green and White are also ranked eighth in scoring defense (6.58 goals/game).
• Babson is 10th in draw control percentage (.627), 25th in draw controls per game (16.67) and 41st in caused turnovers per game (12.50).

RECORD VS. RANKED TEAMS
• The Beavers are 3-1 this season against teams in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III poll.
• Babson registered victories over No. 17 Chicago (13-9), No. 13 Trinity (16-7) and No. 15 MIT (10-7) after suffering its only loss to No. 1 Middlebury (18-5).

STREAKING BEAVERS
• The current 10-game winning streak for the Green and White is the fifth-longest in program history and longest in over a decade.
• The longest winning streaks were 13 in a row in 1996 and 2009 and 12 straight in 2007 and 2012.

BEAVER BITES
• Connolly has recorded double-digit draw controls in eight of the last nine games, and 17 of the past 23 outings dating back to last season.
• Evans has scored at least one goal in 19 consecutive games dating back to last season.
• Ives has scored goals in all 11 of her games this season and 51 consecutive games dating back to her career at Trinity.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers are 5-0 on the road this spring.
• The Green and White are 10-0 when scoring 12 or more goals this season, as well as 23-0 since the start of last season and 36-1 going back to 2022.
• Babson is unbeaten this season (9-0) and 21-2 since last season when leading at halftime.
• When holding its opponents to 10 goals or fewer, the Beavers have won 22 in a row and 32 of their last 33 games since 2022.

• The Beavers will play their third straight road game on Wednesday with a NEWMAC match-up at Wheaton at 7 p.m. in Norton, Mass.
