• Morris went 3-for-4 with a double, a homer and two runs scored to help the Beavers complete a doubleheader sweep with a 7-5 win over Smith on April 8, 2023, in Babson Park.

Athena Hadjipanayis contributed a two-run double, Hennessy had an RBI double and O'Reilly added an RBI single while striking out nine in five shutout innings in the circle for Babson, which scored all of its runs over the first two innings.
• Piper Corey knocked in a pair of runs, CeCe Alaniz went 2-for-3 with an RBI double and Juno Shantz was 2-for-4 with an RBI single for the Pioneers, who brought the potential go-ahead run to the plate in the top of the seventh.

SCOUTING THE LYONS
• Wheaton (12-9, 6-0 NEWMAC) has won its last five games and is coming off a 5-2 victory to complete a sweep of Clark last Sunday.
• Juliette Zito went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI and Ella Molinari and Taylor Barry each drove in a run for the Lyons, who recorded 23 hits in the two-game sweep of the Cougars.
• Molinari is batting .377 with five extra-base hits, six RBI and 10 runs scored, Zito is hitting .313 with 10 doubles, six RBI and a team-high 21 runs scored, and Oliveira enters the weekend with a .299 average to go along with five doubles, a home run and 18 runs batted in.
• Sofia Knopp is 6-4 with a 1.51 ERA and 53 strikeouts in 55.2 innings pitched, Peyton Blankenheim-Brown is 2-2 with a 1.84 ERA in 26.2 innings of work, and Sofia De La Rosa is 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA in three starts this spring.
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
• Smith (10-7-1, 2-2 NEWMAC) has won four straight games after sweeping Amherst 5-0 and 1-0 on Wednesday.
• Shantz went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and Emilie Doty struck out six in a one-hit shutout in the opener, while Lexi Balam came through with an RBI double in the top of the seventh in game two for the Pioneers, who got a six-hit shutout from Lucy Helms.
• Shantz is batting .453 with nine extra-base hits, 14 RBI and 14 runs scored, Corey is hitting .340 with three doubles, two triples and 11 runs batted in, and Alaniz owns a .275 average to go along with two doubles, a homer and six RBI.
• Doty is 6-3 with a 2.32 ERA and 50 strikeouts in 54.1 innings, Bailey Gray is 3-1 with a 1.87 ERA and is holding hitters to a .196 average in 30.0 inning pitched, and Helms has gone 1-3 with a 4.08 earned run average in 24.0 innings of work.
MOORE, O'REILLY NAMED TO TUCCI/NFCA PITCHER AND PLAYER OF THE YEAR WATCHLIST
• The Babson duo was among 14 players from Region II and 98 in all named to the Tucci/NFCA Division III Pitcher and Player of the Year Watchlist last week.
• Moore, a two-time all-region and All-NEWMAC honoree, is batting .361 with three doubles, a triple, seven RBI and 12 runs scored in 23 starts this season. She boasts a .432 on-base percentage and leads the Beavers with 14 stolen bases and seven multi-hit games.
• The two-time reigning NEWMAC Pitcher of the Year and a two-time NFCA Region II selection, O'Reilly (6-7, 2.36 ERA) has won six of her last eight decisions and ranks third in Division III in strikeouts and fifth in strikeouts per seven innings (10.8).
BEAVER BITES
• Walsh, who has reached base in 12 consecutive games, is second on the team in hits (22), RBI (10), runs scored (10), stolen bases (12) and walks (8).
• Raymond leads the team with four multi-RBI games and five two-out RBI, and is hitting .333 (7-for-21) with runners in scoring position.
• Russell also is batting .333 (4-for-12) with runners in scoring position, which is tied with Raymond for second on the team behind Moore, who is batting a team-best .529 (9-for-17).
SUCCESS IN THE CIRCLE
• Vlacich, who recorded her second shutout of the season to lead the Beavers to a 1-0 win in game one of Tuesday's doubleheader against Framingham State on Tuesday, is 3-2 with a 1.85 ERA in seven appearances going back to Mrach 11.
• She has four complete games and two shutouts in six starts during this stretch, owns a 1.19 WHIP and has allowed just four extra-base hits in 41.1 innings over seven appearances.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
