WHAT TO KNOW
• The Babson men's and women's track & field teams will head to New London, Conn., for the second weekend in a row, this time to compete in the two-day Silfen Invitational at Connecticut College beginning on Friday afternoon.
• In addition, senior Anthony Rodriguez will compete in the 5,000 meters at the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell in Lewisburg, Pa., on Saturday at 9:15 p.m.

LAST YEAR AT SILFEN INVITATIONAL
• The Babson men broke three school records, recorded one New England Division III qualifying mark, and turned in seven personal bests on the way to a seventh-place finish last year. Rodriguez led things off on Friday, breaking his own school record in the 10,000 meters to take fourth place with a time of 30:27.92.
• Senior Eric Bottern broke his own program standard in the shot put with a first-place mark of 54-feet, 1-inch on Saturday. Classmate Michael Agard had an outstanding performance in the 100-meter dash, finishing in fourth place with school-record time of 10.89 seconds that was a New England Division III qualifying time.
• Lauren Zatulove '23 qualified for the New England Regionals in the heptathlon and finished in fourth place with 3,284 points as the Babson women placed 15th in the team standings.
• Junior Angela Hagstrom was the runner-up in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.82. Caroline Reilly '23, sophomores Brooke Jankowski and Robyn Wilkes, and Hagstrom took sixth place in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 50.17.

SCOUTING THE BABSON MEN
• The Beavers broke one program record and qualified two athletes to the New England Regionals last Saturday at the Coast Guard Invitational in New London, Conn.
• Bottern broke his own program record in the hammer throw with a mark of 158-feet, 10-inches, which was good for a third-place showing. He also took second place in the shot put with a mark of 53-feet, 7.75-inches.
• First-year Chris McDonough had a strong meet for the Beavers, taking first place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.75 seconds. He also placed seventh in the long jump with a New England qualifying leap of 21-feet, 6.25-inches. Junior Jack Reynolds took second place in the triple jump with a leap of 43-feet, 3.75 inches, which is a New England regional qualifying performance, and Rodriguez finished runner-up in the 5000 meters in a time of 14:58.86.
• Four first-years registered third-place finishes for the Beavers – Kainoa Ronquilio in the 400 meters (51.59), Gabe Rosenberg in the 110 hurdles (16.14 seconds), Stratton Seymour in the 400 hurdles (58.54), and Nicolas Kube in the javelin (169-feet, 11-inches).

SCOUTING THE BABSON WOMEN
• Hagstrom came in first place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.37 and Babson recorded top-four finishes in five events last Saturday at the Coast Guard Invitational in New London, Conn.
• Hagstrom, first-year Colleen Corman, sophomore Chloe Clifford and first-year Lassiter Foregger teamed up to come in third in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:19.14.
• Sophomore Trista Sicard came in fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 34-feet, 5.50-inches. Classmate Ashna Krishnamurthy took fourth in the long jump with a mark of 16-feet, 8.75-inches and was fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 34-feet, 4.25-inches.
• Sophomore Julia Pike finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.53, while Clifford came in sixth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:26.96. 

NEWMAC WEEKLY HONOR
• A team of Babson men's sprinters were honored on Monday when they were named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Track Relay Team of the Week.
• The Beaver team of first-year Aryan Dass, Ronquilio, Agard and McDonough earned the honor after winning the 4x100-meter relay at Saturday's Coast Guard Invitational with a time of 42.65. The time is the fastest in the NEWMAC this spring and was just 0.20 seconds off the Beavers' program record.

PROGRAM RECORDS
• The Beavers have combined to set four program records this spring.
• In addition to Bottern's mark in the hammer throw last Saturday, McDonough has set new standards in the men's 100 (10.54 on March 29) and 200 (21.83 on March 26) meter dashes, and Wilkes established a women's mark in the 200 meters with a 26.04 at the Ross & Sharon Irwin Collegiate Meet on March 16.

TEAM RANKINGS
• The Babson men remained fourth this week in the East region by the US Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
• Their 439.12 points are behind only MIT, Tufts and Bates and ahead of Bridgewater State, Colby, WPI, Southern Maine, UMass Dartmouth and Bowdoin in the top 10.
• The Babson women are ranked 13th in the East region with 177.11 points, which is fourth among NEWMAC schools behind MIT (1st, 927.98), WPI (4th, 408.12), and Wheaton (5th, 339.04).

UP NEXT
• The Beavers will compete at the Sean Collier Invitational next weekend at MIT, beginning with Distance Night on Friday and the full meet on Saturday.
