Chris McDonough (North Andover, Mass.) set a pair of school records in his collegiate debut as the Babson College men's track & field squad recorded six top-five finishes to open the season at the Ross & Sharon Irwin Collegiate Meet on Saturday afternoon.
McDonough finished second and posted a time of 10.56 in the 100-meter dash to shatter the previous of mark of 10.89 set by senior
Michael Agard (Marietta, Ga.) last season. He also came in sixth in the 200 meters with a time of 21.83 that was 0.20 seconds faster than the previous record set by Colin Cianciolo '22 two years ago.
Senior
Anthony Rodriguez (Prairie View, Ill.) finished third in the 5000 meters with a time of 14:56.31, which ranks fifth in program history, while junior
Julian Ivarra (Plano, Texas) came in two spots behind him with a time of 15:10.57. Classmate
Eric Bottern (Saint Paul, Minn.) took third with a throw of 53-feet, 2.25-inches that is the sixth-best in school history in the shot put, and junior
Jack Reynolds (Fairfield, Conn.) came in fourth by clearing 5-feet, 9.25-inches in the high jump. Bottern also finished 10th with a throw of 144-feet, 8-inches in the hammer and recorded a result of 123-feet, 10-inches to take 12th in the discus.
First-year
Kainoa Ronquillo (Waipahu, Hawaii) came in fifth with a time of 49.79 in the 400 meters and also placed 10th with a time of 22.45 in the 200 meters. Agard came in sixth with a leap of 20-feet, 5.25-inches in the long jump and Reynolds added a sixth-place showing with a career-best throw of 154-feet, 1-inch in the javelin.
First-year
Aryan Dass (New Delhi, India) finished seventh in the 400 meters with a time of 50.49 and claimed 15th place in the 200 meters with a time of 22.86. Junior
Harrison Prucher (Hopkinton, Mass.) came in 10th in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.01 and first-year
Gabe Rosenberg (Silver Spring, Md.) was four spots behind him finishing 14th with a time of 19.27 in his collegiate debut.
Sophomore
Max Gregoire (Tyngsborough, Mass.) posted a time of 2:0739 to finish 24th in the 800 meters.
Babson returns to action next Saturday when it competes at the Bridgewater State Invitational.
