Softball Set for Final Four Games in Florida Beginning Wednesday Morning

WHAT TO KNOW

•    The Babson softball team concludes its 10-game trip to central Florida with doubleheaders on both Wednesday and Thursday. 
•    The Beavers meet Carroll and McDaniel on Wednesday in Leesburg before concluding the week with games against Wooster and Curry on Thursday in Clermont. 

SERIES HISTORY
vs. Carroll:

vs. Wooster: Babson is 1-1 all-time against the Fighting Scots but suffered a 12-5 loss in last year's matchup on March 16 in Auburndale, Fla. 

vs. Curry: the Beavers are 5-3 all-time against the Colonels although the teams have not played since 1995.

SCOUTING BABSON
•    The Beavers (3-8) have won two of their last three games and are coming off a 3-2 10-inning victory over Gettysburg on Monday afternoon. 
•    Senior Moria O'Reilly recorded a season-high 18 strikeouts in a complete-game effort and first-year Charlotte Raymond scored the game-winning run when senior Molly Hennessy reached an error for the Beavers, who tied the game in the sixth inning on an RBI single by graduate student Cassidy Musco. 
•    First-year Ruby Madia is batting .379 with two doubles, junior Sara Moore is hitting .378 with two extra-base hits, three RBI and seven runs scored, and classmate Athena Hadjipanayis checks in at .324 with three extra-base hits, three RBI and six runs scored. 
•    O'Reilly (1-5, 1.77 ERA) has 62 strikeouts in 40.2 innings and is holding opposing hitters to a .203 average, while first-year Katie Vlacich is 2-3 with a 4.96 ERA in 32.2 innings of work this spring. 

SCOUTING CARROLL
•    The Pioneers (5-5) have won three straight games after defeating Geneseo, 3-2, and Ithaca 3-1 on Monday. 
•    Abby Curtis went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and Kiana Johnson drove in two runs for Carroll, which took advantage of an error with one out in the bottom of the seventh to get past Geneseo. 
•    Sophia Schmidt is batting .538 with five doubles, six RBI and three runs scored, Curtis is hitting .424 with a triple, five stolen bases and six runs scored, and Sydney Radderman boasts a .360 average to go along with a double, three RBI and six runs scored on the year. 
•    Andrea Kuhne is 3-1 with a 2.88 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 24.1 innings, while Riley Pavelka has gone 1-1 with a 4.82 ERA in 20.1 innings in the circle. 

SCOUTING MCDANIEL
•    The Green Terror (5-1) has won three straight games and is coming off a 9-2 victory over Skidmore on Monday evening. 
•    Ashley Shawyer went 3-for-4 with two RBI and Paytn Hazelton singled twice, drove in a run and scored twice for McDaniel, which busted the game open with an eight-run second inning. 
•    Makayla Calamita is batting .500 with four doubles, six RBI and six runs scored, Mandy Butz is hitting .381 with two runs batted in and Shawyer owns a .357 average and has knocked in four runs. 
•    Hannah Costa is 2-1 with a 1.17 ERA in 18.0 innings over three starts, while Libertie Schatzman has gone 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA and two complete games in her two starts. 

SCOUTING WOOSTER
•    The Fighting Scots (3-3) have split their first six games and are coming off an 8-5 loss to Cortland on Monday. 
•    Stephanie Griffin-Sanchez was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI and Kaydee Clark singled twice and drove in a run for Wooster, which finished with 13 hits in the loss. 
•    Tori Conner is batting .571 with four runs batted in, Clark is hitting .500 with a double, two stolen bases and eight RBI, and Julia Jennings check in at .476 with four RBI and four runs scored. 
•    Conner has also gone 2-1 with a 4.75 ERA in 17.2 innings in the circle, while Lynnsey Delio is 1-1 with a 3.78 earned run average over 16.2 innings. 

SCOUTING CURRY
•    The Colonels (4-0) defeated Monmouth (Ill.) 11-3 in six innings on Monday afternoon to remain unbeaten. 
•    Karlie Pontes and Sam King both drove in two runs and Morgan Barmash went 2-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored for Curry, which walked six times and took advantage of six errors in the victory. 
•    Jillian Rogers is batting .545 with two doubles, a home run and six runs batted in, Jordan Ferullo is hitting .364 with two RBI and five runs scored, and King is 2-for-8 (.250) at the plate with a double and five RBI.
•    Rogers (2-0, 1.08 ERA) has 19 strikeouts in 13.0 innings and Caitlyn Wood has gone 1-0 with a 2.33 ERA in two starts this spring. 

GETTING IN A GROOVE
•    Despite finding herself on the losing end of three extra-inning games, O'Reilly has been terrific over her last three appearances in the circle. 
•    She struck out 16 and gave up just four hits in a 1-0 nine-inning loss to Chicago last Sunday and fanned four over 1.2 innings in the eight-inning loss to Plymouth State before the 18-strikeout performance versus Gettysburg. 
•    She has pitched 20.2 innings over these three appearances while striking out 38 and allowing no earned runs on just eight hits and three walks. 

STREAKING BEAVERS
•    Madia enters Wednesday's contest against Carroll riding a nine-game hitting streak, while Moore has reached base in eight consecutive outings. 

SPEED ON THE BASEPATHS
•    The Beavers have multiple stolen bases in seven consecutive games and have swiped at least one bag in nine of 11 contests on the year. 
•    Moore leads the team with seven stolen bases, Musco and first-year Emily Walsh are both 6-for-6 in steals this season, and Hadjipanayis and graduate student Jackie Hill have both swiped three bags. 

NUMBERS TO KNOW
•    Seven of Babson's first 11 games have been decided by one or two runs, four of which have ended in extra innings. 
•    The Beavers are hitting .246 (29-for-118) with runners in scoring position through their first 11 games. 
•    The Green and White is 2-1 this spring when scoring first and 2-0 when scoring in the first inning.
•    Babson is 3-4 when leading or tied after six innings this season.
