WHAT TO KNOW
• The Babson men's and women's track & field teams travel to Point Loma Nazarene in San Diego to compete in the Ross & Sharon Irwin Collegiate Meet to begin the season for the third year in a row and fourth time in program history on Saturday.
• The field events get underway at 12 p.m. EDT and the track events are slated to start at 2:20 p.m. EDT.
2023 ROSS & SHARON IRWIN COLLEGIATE MEET HIGHLIGHTS
• The Babson men's and women's track & field teams combined to set five school records at last year's meet.
• Sophomore
Ashna Krishnamurthy set a new school record in the triple jump, while classmate
Brooke Jankowski achieved a new mark in the long jump.
• Jankowski also was a part of the women's third school record in the 4x400-meter relay along with junior
Angela Hagstrom, sophomore
Chloe Clifford and Caroline Reilly '23.

Eric Bottern bettered his own record in the hammer throw and classmate
Anthony Rodriguez shattered his previous mark by more than 15 seconds in the 5000-meter run for the Babson men.
SCOUTING THE BABSON WOMEN
• The Beavers return 15 athletes from a team that placed fifth with a school-record 55 points at last year's NEWMAC Championships.
• Hagstrom earned All-NEWMAC and All-New England honors in the 400-meter hurdles, while Jankowski garnered all-region accolades thanks to her fifth-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles at the D3 New England meet.
• Hagstrom, Jankowski and Clifford also earned both all-conference and All-New England recognition in the 4x400-meter relay.

Robyn Wilkes came in seventh in the 200 meters and eighth in the 100 meters, classmate
Trista Sicard and Krishnamurthy came in sixth and seventh, respectively, in the triple jump and Jankowski took seventh in the high jump at the 2023 conference meet.
SCOUTING THE BABSON MEN
• The Beavers bring back 13 athletes after recorded their fourth consecutive fourth-place finish with a school-record 80 points at last year's NEWMAC Championships.
• Rodgriguez became the second competitor in Babson history to earn NEWMAC Track Athlete of the Year honors after winning the 5000- and 10,000-meter runs.
• Bottern, who came in first in the shot put at the D3 New England Meet and third at the NEICAAA Championships after earning all-conference accolades, qualified for nationals and came in 12th in the prelims last May.

Jack Reynolds came in fifth in the high jump and triple jump, senior
Ian Richter was fifth in the 400-meter hurdles and senior
Michael Agard placed sixth in the long jump at last year's league meet.
REWRITING THE REOCRD BOOKS
• Agard enters the 2024 campaign as the Beavers' school-record holder in the 100 meters and long jump, Rodriguez bettered both his marks in the 5000 meters and 10,000 meters last season and Bottern achieved new marks in the shot put, discus and hammer throw last spring.
• Krishnamurthy set new records in both the long jump and triple jump and the Babson women achieved two new marks in the relays.
• Jankowski, Wilkes and Hagstrom were part of a school scored in the 4x100 and Clifford joined Jankowski and Hagstrom in posting a new record in the 4x400-meter event.
POLL POSITION
• The Babson men were picked to finish fifth, while the women's squad finished in a tie for sixth when the NEWMAC released its preseason coaches' polls last week.
