SERIES HISTORY
vs. Norwich

• The Beavers are 28-48-8 all-time against Norwich in a series that dates back to the 1975-76 campaign.
• The two teams are tied 3-3-1 over the past three seasons after Norwich had captured six out of seven meetings over the previous three campaigns.
• The Green and White are 4-3-2 against the Cadets at the Babson Skating Center going back to 2015.
vs. New England College
• Babson is 48-24-8 all-time against New England College in a series that dates back to 1977.
• The Beavers have captured seven of the last nine encounters between the two programs, although the teams split the season series the past two years, with each team winning on home ice in 2021-22 and both winning on the road last year.
• The Green and White had a six-game unbeaten (5-0-1) streak against NEC in Babson Park snapped in last year's contest.

LAST MEETING
vs. Norwich

• No. 11-ranked Norwich scored twice in a span of 33 seconds late in the second period to break a 1-1 deadlock and went on to a 4-1 victory over Babson back on January 6 inside Kreitzberg Arena.
• Sophomore Danny Cavanagh scored the lone goal for the Beavers, with assists from first-year Sean Senier and sophomore Nolan Woudenberg. Sophomore Nate Mueller made 29 saves in goal in the loss.
• Juniors Paul Schmid, Alex Lewis, Bryan O'Mara and Patrick Del Vecchi all tallied a goal and an assist for the Cadets, and first-years Zach Ophoven and Cooper Bertrand and sophomore Johnny Johnson collected assists. First-year Sami Molu made 23 saves in goal to record the win for the hosts.
vs. New England College
• First-year goalie Mason Rosado made 23 saves for his first career shutout and sophomore Brendan Kennedy had a goal and an assist as Babson blanked New England College, 4-0, back on January 5 inside Lee Clement Arena in Henniker, N.H.
• Sophomores Cam Joslin and Ian Driscoll and junior Wyatt George also scored for the Beavers, while senior Colby Bailey, junior Brendan Murphy, sophomores Charlie Andriole, Woudenberg and Ryan Murphy and first-year Jimmy Fallon collected one assist apiece in the win.
• Sophomore Danny Miscavish made 23 saves and kept the Pilgrims in the game until the Beavers scored three times in the final 5:17 to secure the victory.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (12-9-2, 10-5-1 NEHC) has won three of its last four games after defeating Castleton, 6-2, last Saturday in Rutland, Vermont.
• Driscoll and classmate Egan Schmitt finished with a goal and an assist each and the Beavers scored four times on the power play in the victory. George, Cavanagh, Woudenberg and sophomore Will Holland also scored for the Green and White and sophomores Mike Stevens and Andriole collected two assists each. Mueller made 20 saves in net to claim the win.
Ryan Murphy (8-14-22) is in the top 10 in the NEHC in assists and points while George (9-7-16) and Schmitt (9-5-14) share the team lead in goals. Bailey (4-10-14) is tied for ninth in the league in scoring by a defenseman and Andriole (0-13-13) is fourth in the NEHC in assists by a blueliner.
• Mueller (3.10 GAA, .900 Sv. Pct.) is 7-6 in 13 starts for the Beavers while Rosado (2.48 GAA, .906 Sv. Pct.) is 5-3-2 in 10 starts, including four of the last five encounters.

SCOUTING THE CADETS
• No. 9 Norwich (13-6-4, 10-3-3 NEHC) has three wins and a tie in its last four outings after last Saturday's 5-2 victory at NEC on the strength of three unanswered third-period goals.
• Bertrand and sophomore Devon Thibodeau led the Cadets with a goal and two assists each, while Schmid added a goal and an assist. Sophomore Nick Cordeiro and junior Clark Kerner also scored once each and first-year goalie Bryce Walcarius finished with 21 saves in the win.
• Kerner (8-12-20) leads the team in scoring and has seven multi-point games. Bertrand (6-11-17) is third in the league in scoring by a first-year, sophomore Johnny Johnson (4-11-15) and junior Bryan O'Mara (4-11-15) are tied for second on the team in assists, and Schmid (7-6-13) is second on the team in goals.
• Molu (1.55 GAA, .944 sv. pct) is 6-5-2 in 13 starts and ranks third in the NEHC in save percentage and fourth in goals against average while Walcarius (1.40 GAA, .942 sv. pct) is 7-0-2 in nine starts and ranks third in GAA and fourth in save percentage.

SCOUTING THE PILGRIMS
• New England College (4-18-1, 2-13-1 NEHC) heads into Friday's conference game at Southern Maine after splitting last weekend's home games, defeating Castleton on Friday and falling to No. 12 Norwich on Saturday, both by 5-2 scores.
• Junior Wyatt Andres and first-year Cam Perez scored for NEC against the Cadets, helping the Pilgrims go into the third period tied 2-2. First-years Shane Adler and Paul Waldhauser led the way in the win over Castleton with a goal and an assist each, while sophomore Kam Hellman and juniors Ike Taraszewski and Jesper Tarkiainen also scored in the victory.
• Waldhauser (5-5-10) leads the team in scoring while first-year Gunnar Sibley (6-3-9) tops the squad in goals and power play goals (4) and Perez (1-8-9) is the high man in assists. Andres (4g, 4a) and junior David Novotny (3g, 5a) have contributed eight points apiece.
• Senior Kai Tomita (3.22 GAA, .911 sv. pct) has four wins and two shutouts in his 16 starts this season, while Miscavish (3.50 GAA, .880 sv. pct) has posted a tie among his seven starts.

CONCANNON AWARD SEMIFINALIST
Ryan Murphy is among 38 players selected as semifinalists for the 23rd Joe Concannon Award as announced by the Greater Gridiron Club of Boston, presented annually to the best American-born NCAA Division II/III hockey player in New England.
• The Babson sophomore is one of five players from the NEHC this season to be named a semifinalist, and the 15th player in program history to be recognized.

BABSON VS. THE OPPONENTS
• Senior Thomas Kramer is the current active scoring leader against Norwich with five goals in seven career games, including a hat trick in 2021. George has tallied a goal and two assists in six games, and Ryan Murphy has collected three assists in four career outings vs. the Cadets.
• Bailey is the active team leader against New England College with two goals and four assists for six points in nine games and George has recorded three goals and two assists for five points in five contests. Kennedy has produced three goals and an assist in three outings and Kramer has two goals and two assists in seven outings.

A CHECK ON THE NEHC STANDINGS
• Babson (10-5-1) heads into the final weekend of the regular season alone in fifth place in the NEHC with 28 points, three points back of fourth-place Elmira (10-5-1), which has 31 points. Despite the same record, the point differential is because the Beavers have three overtime wins and the Soaring Eagles have one overtime win and one overtime loss.
• Hobart (14-1-1) has 43 points and clinched the regular season crown and top seed in the conference tournament. Skidmore (11-4-1) and Norwich (10-3-3) are tied for second place with 34 points apiece.
• UMass Boston (6-10-0) is in sixth place with 19 points, one point ahead of seventh-place Southern Maine (5-8-3). The bottom two spots are Johnson & Wales (2-13-1, 8 points) and New England College (2-13-1, 7 points), which are still alive for the final playoff spot.

HOME ICE ADVANTAGE
• The Beavers are 6-2-2 at the Babson Skating Center this season and have a 30-7-5 home record over the past four seasons.
• Babson is 55-16-7 on home ice since 2017-18 and 99-19-12 at home since February of 2013.

BEAVERS BITES
• Woudenberg became the 18th different player to score for Babson this season with his goal on Saturday against Castleton.
Ryan Murphy has produced a point in four straight games while Dion has earned a point in four of his last five and George has scored a goal in two of his last three outings.
• Driscoll has multi-point games in two of his last three contests.
• The Babson sophomores continue to impress, accounting for 40 of the team's 71 goals (56.3 percent). The juniors have scored 15 goals, the seniors have 10 and first-years have tallied six.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Green and White are 11-1-1 this season when scoring at least three goals and 28-3-2 over the past two seasons with at least three strikes.
• Babson is 7-2 when leading after the first period and are 17-3-1 over the past two seasons when taking a lead into the second period.
• The Beavers are 9-3 this season when scoring the first goal of the game and 24-5-1 since last season when drawing first blood.

UP NEXT
• The first round of the NEHC Tournament takes place next Saturday, February 17, with the top four seeds hosting the 5-8 seeds.
