BABSON PARK, Mass.—Following a 2024 campaign that saw his program capture its second consecutive New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular season and tournament titles, Babson College seventh-year head men's lacrosse coach
Rocky Batty officially released his squad's 2025 schedule on Thursday.
The Beavers, who advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row and finished the year with an overall record of 16-4, will play another rugged schedule in 2025 that will include four teams that appeared in the NCAA Tournament last May.
The Green and White begin the campaign with four straight home games, starting with the opener against Roger Williams on February 15 at MacDowell Field. That is followed by contests against NCAA Tournament team Union (N.Y) on February 22 and Williams on March 1 before wrapping up the homestand vs. Nichols on March 4.
Babson makes its first road trip of the season to Western New England on March 8, and returns to Springfield a week later for the NEWMAC debut against the Pride on March 15. A match-up against Middlebury, which advanced to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals last spring, awaits at USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md., on March 18.
After a conference meeting against MIT in Babson Park on March 22, the Beavers will travel to Maine on March 26 to take on Bowdoin, which played in the NCAA Tournament semifinals last spring. The month winds up with a NEWMAC encounter against Wheaton at MacDowell Field on March 29.
April opens with a non-conference tilt at home against UMass Boston on April 1 and a NEWMAC game at Emerson on April 4. Babson will host Salve Regina on April 12 before a big test at defending national champion Tufts in Medford on April 15. The regular season winds up with conference games at home against Clark on April 19 and at Coast Guard on April 26.
The top five teams qualify for the NEWMAC Tournament, which kicks off with a quarterfinal on April 29. The two highest seeds will host semifinal contests on May 1 with the winners advancing to the championship game at the highest remaining seed on May 3. The tournament winner receives the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Championships.
