Women's Soccer Hosts Salve Regina in Key NEWMAC Clash on Saturday

SERIES HISTORY

•    Babson is 9-0 all-time against Salve Regina in a series that dates back to 2001. 
•    The Beavers and Seahawks will meet for just the second time as NEWMAC foes on Saturday. 
•    The Green and White has won all five of its previous matches against Salve Regina at Hartwell-Rogers Field, although the sides will clash for just the third time since 2007 on Saturday. 

LAST MEETING
•    Senior Jordyn Ferrantino scored in the 25th minute and Olivia Maltbie '24 added a goal in the 64th minute to help Babson defeat Salve Regina, 3-2, on October 21, 2023, in Newport R.I.
•    Morgan Krauss M'24 provided an assist and senior goalkeeper Nora Ryan finished with six saves for the Beavers, who took a 2-0 lead thanks to an own goal in the 47th minute. 
•    Allie Gallagher scored in the 50th minute and Sara Wiejkus made it a one-goal game in the 81st minute for the Seahawks, who got six saves from Sabrina Lawless. 

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
•    Babson (5-5-5, 3-2-3 NEWMAC) was unbeaten in five consecutive matches before suffering a 4-0 loss at No. 4 MIT on Wednesday afternoon. 
•    Ryan stopped four shots for the Beavers, who fell behind 2-0 less than six minute into the match and were blanked for the third time in the last four games. 
•    Senior Elisa Diletizia (4-0-8) has scored three times in conference play, first-year Josie Lee (2-2-6) has one game-winning goal, Ferrantino (1-3-5) leads the team in assists and senior Laura Lukowicz and junior Meredith Greeley have both provided two goals on the year.
•    Ryan has started all 15 matches this fall and owns a 1.26 goals against average, a .767 save percentage and is tied for first among conference goalkeeper with six shutouts. 

SCOUTING THE SEAHAWKS
•    Salve Regina (2-11-3, 1-4-3 NEWMAC) has dropped two straight games and is winless in its last five matches after suffering a 2-1 loss at Wheaton on Wednesday. 
•    Marissa Perachi tied the game in the 54th minute and Reagan Moffatt finished with five saves for the Seahawks, who conceded the go-ahead goal in the 86th minute. 
•    Hannah Daniewicz (6-0-12) has a goal in two of the last three games, Perachi (2-1-5) has produced all of her points in league play and Elle Cence, Lily Chhun and Olivia Tacconi are all tied for the team lead with two assists. 
•    Moffatt is 0-9-3 with a 2.38 goals against average and a .716 save percentage to go along with one clean sheet in 14 starts this fall. 

LUKOWICZ EARNS CONFERENCE RECOGNITION
•    Lukowicz was named NEWMAC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, the first Babson player to receive conference honors this season.
•    Lukowicz led a back line that allowed a total of just five shots on goal in a pair of shutouts last week. The Beavers gave up just one shot on target in a 0-0 draw at Emerson on Wednesday and limited Smith to just four shots on frame in the 1-0 victory on Saturday.

POSTSEASON PUSH
•    Babson enters Saturday's clash sitting on 12 points in a tie for sixth place in the NEMWAC standings with three games left in the regular season.
•    The Beavers are just two points behind WPI, Emerson and Springfield, who are all tied for third place, and four points in back of second-place Smith, who they defeated 1-0 last Saturday. 
•    Salve Regina is one point behind Coast Guard for the eighth and final playoff spot. 

SENIOR SATURDAY
•    Prior to kickoff against the Seahawks, the Beavers will honor their senior class of Diletizia, Ferrantino, Lukowicz, Ryan, Kira Cafferty, Julia Milke, Camryn Ward, Emma Mumby and Carolina Silva
•    The group has led the Green and White to a record of 40-21-14 over the last four seasons, which includes a pair of second-place finishes in the league standings and the program's first NEWMAC Tournament final and NCAA Tournament appearance since 2015 last season. 

NUMBERS TO KNOW
•    The Beavers are 3-2-1 at home this season. 
•    Babson is 5-0-5 when it is ahead or tied after 45 minutes this fall. 
•    The Green and White is 4-0-5 on the year when conceding one goal or fewer on the year. 
•    The Beavers are 4-0-2 when scoring the first goal of the match this season.

•    Babson will play its regular season home finale on Wednesday when it hosts Springfield at 3 p.m.
