• Ryan (1.04 GAA, 52 saves) has started all 14 games in goal for the Green and White and leads the NEWMAC with six shutouts and ranks third in goals against average.
SCOUTING THE ENGINEERS
• No. 4 MIT (13-1-1, 7-0-0 NEWMAC) brings a seven-game winning streak into Wednesday's encounter after defeating Salve Regina 6-1 on Saturday in Newport, R.I.
• Barnouw recorded her first career hat trick along with an assist for the Engineers, who did all of their scoring in the first half in the win. Junior Sean Luk added a goal and an assist and senior Lauren Davis and sophomore Qiana Felician chipped in with one goal apiece. Sophomore Cassidy Jennings and first-year Maddy Noll each made two saves in 45 minutes in goal for the Engineers.
• Barnouw (8-2-16) and sophomore Arianna Doss (6-3-15) are the top two scorers in the NEWMAC and Luk (3-7-13) leads the league in assists. Rowlett (4-3-11), fellow senior Emiko Pope (4-0-8) and Davis (3-0-6) make up a balanced offensive attack for the Engineers, who have outscored their opponents 39-8.
• Jennings (7-1-1, 0.41 GAA, 20 saves), Noll (5-0-0, 0.44 GAA, 14 saves) and junior Ava Muffoletto (1-0-0, 0.99 GAA, 4 saves) have combined to register nine clean sheets in goal for the Engineers.
WEEKLY HONOR
• Lukowicz was named NEWMAC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, the first Babson player to receive conference honors this season.
• Lukowicz led a back line that allowed a total of just five shots on goal in a pair of shutouts last week. The Beavers gave up just one shot on target in a 0-0 draw at Emerson on Wednesday and limited Smith to just four shots on frame in the 1-0 victory on Saturday.
CONFERENCE BATTLE
• With two weeks remaining in the conference schedule, only three points separate five teams between second and sixth place in the NEWMAC standings.
• WPI (4-1-2) has 14 points, Smith (4-2-1) has 13, Babson (3-1-3) has 12, and Springfield (3-2-2) and Emerson (3-2-2) have 11 points each.
• MIT (7-0-0, 21 points) is the only unbeaten team in the NEWMAC, while Wheaton (2-2-3) and Coast Guard (2-4-1) enter the week in position to claim the final two playoffs spots.
GOALS DENIED
• The Beavers have not conceded a goal in a stretch of 401 minutes and 25 seconds over the last five games, its longest streak since going more than 507 minutes over seven games from September 7 to October 1, 2022.
• The four straight shutouts includes scoreless ties in back-to-back games in the same year for the first time in program history.
