• Junior Roshann Purcell scored the decisive goal in the 68th minute as visiting Middlebury defeated Babson, 2-1, on October 8, 2023, at Hartwell-Rogers Field.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (3-4-3, 1-1-2 NEWMAC) has taken just one defeat in its last seven outings (3-1-3) following a 3-2 conference road victory at Wellesley last Saturday afternoon.

• Diletizia (3-0-6) has scored in back-to-back games to take over the team scoring lead while Lee (2-2-6) leads the team in assists. Greeley (2-0-4) scored her first goals in 26 games and Ferrantino (1-1-3) has 18 career goals and 44 career points.
• Ryan (1.44 GAA, 41 saves) has started all 10 games in goal for the Green and White and has recorded three shutouts.
SCOUTING THE LYONS
• Mount Holyoke (3-2-4, 0-2-2 NEWMAC) is 0-2-2 in its last four outings after Wednesday's 0-0 draw against Wellesley. The Lyons have scored just six goals but also have allowed only six markers.
• Sophomore Evie Krieg was impressive in goal with seven saves in the draw. Junior Anna Kennedy had a goal in a 2-1 loss at Salve Regina last Saturday and sophomore Sage Hudson scored for the Lyons in a 1-1 tie against Emerson back on September 28.
• Kennedy (2-0-4) and junior Ada Siepman (2-0-4) have accounted for two-thirds of Mount Holyoke's six goals this season. Hudson (1-1-3) and senior Hannah Keochakian (1-0-2) have also found the back of the net for the Lyons, and sophomore Schuyler Pettibone has also registered an assist.
• Krieg (0.40 GAA, 48 saves, 3 SO) and Govea (1.00 GAA, 18 saves, 1 SO) have split the majority of time in goal for the Lyons, who rank second in the NEWMAC with a 0.67 team goals against average.
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
• No. 7 Middlebury (7-0-3, 4-0-2 NESCAC), which will host Colby on Saturday, enters the weekend with four consecutive wins while outscoring its opponents 15-1. The latest victim was Plymouth State in a 6-1 setback in Vermont on Wednesday.
• Sophomore Chloe Swindle tallied a goal and an assist in Wednesday's victory and Virzi also scored as the Panthers had a 2-0 lead in the first 10 minutes. Seniors Cate Woolsey and Abby Ward, sophomore Gigi Day, and first-year Kjersti Moritz came off the bench to score for the Panthers, who finished with a 23-1 shot advantage.
• Ward (4-2-10) and Day (3-2-8) top the team in scoring while sophomore Mia Feldman (2-3-7) and Swindle (2-3-7) share the team lead in assists. Senior Fanny Lodge (2-0-4) and Virzi (2-0-4) are also multi-goal scorers.
• Kelly (4-0-1, 0.45 GAA, 8 svs, 2 SO), senior Sydney Poppinga (1-0-2, 0.56 GAA, 20 svs, 1 SO), and first-year Frankie Marston (2-0-0, 0.50 GAA, 1 sv, 1 SO) have rotated goalie duties for the Panthers, who have allowed just five goals in 10 games.
NEWMAC HISTORY
• Going back to last October, Babson is unbeaten in its last eight NEWMAC regular season games (5-0-3).
• Babson is 23-5-8 in its last 36 games against NEWMAC foes dating back to 2021, including the post-season.
• The Beavers are 57-4-4 when scoring at least two goals in NEWMAC games dating back to Sept. 18, 2012.
BABSON VS. THE NESCAC
• Babson's 1-1 draw at Bowdoin back on September 20 snapped a five-game losing streak against teams from the NEWMAC.
