SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (9-6-2, 7-2-1 NEHC) has won three of its last four games following last Saturday's 4-3 come-from-behind overtime victory at Southern Maine at the USM Ice Arena.
• Senior defenseman
Colby Bailey scored the tying goal at 17:24 of the third period and added the game winner 61 seconds into overtime. Bailey finished with two goals and an assist, while Murphy and Driscoll each tallied a goal and an assist. Kennedy recorded a pair of helpers, Andriole added one assist, and first-year
Mason Rosado made 17 saves to earn the win in goal.
• Murphy (7-11-18) leads the team in scoring and plus/minus (+15) while George (7-6-13) is tied for second in goals and points and Kennedy (2-11-13) is tied for the team lead in assists. Schmitt (8-4-12) tops the team in goals and is tied with Bailey (3-9-12) in points, and Andriole (0-11-11) also shares the team lead in assists.
• Mueller (3.02 GAA, .903 Sv. Pct.) has started 11 games for the Beavers while Rosado (2.44 GAA, .899 Sv. Pct.) has gotten the nod in goal in six games.
SCOUTING THE STATESMEN
• Defending national champion and No. 1 Hobart (14-2-1, 8-1-1 NEHC) is unbeaten since its loss at Babson (10-0-1), including a 1-1 tie at No. 13 Norwich last Saturday.
• Junior Shane Shell scored a second-period goal for the Statesmen, assisted by senior Jonah Alexander. Sophomore Damon Beaver made a career-high 37 saves in the tie, including 24 in the third period and overtime to preserve the draw.
• Sophomore Tanner Hartman (12-14-26) is second in the NEHC in scoring and classmate Ignat Belov (9-9-18) is second on the team. Senior Artem Buzoverya (3-12-15) is second on the squad in assists and third in points and first-year Chris Duclair (10-4-14) is second in goals. The Statesmen lead the nation in scoring offense (5.12 goals/gm), scoring defense (0.82 goals/gm), and penalty kill percentage (46 of 46) and rank second in power play percentage (.349).
• Beaver (0.99 GAA, .961 sv. pct) is second in Division III in GAA and save pct. in 11 starts, trailing only Goyer (0.50 GAA, .968 sv. pct), who leads the nation in both categories in six starts.
SCOUTING THE SOARING EAGLES
• No. 2 Elmira (14-3-0, 7-3-0 NEHC) goes into Friday's game vs. Southern Maine with wins in 10 of its last 11 games, including a 3-1 loss to No. 13 Norwich on Friday and a 5-2 victory over New England College on Saturday.
• Seniors Ryan Reifler and Shawn Kennedy tallied a goal and an assist in the win, and classmates Nicholas Domitrovic and Amedeo Mastrangeli and sophomore Kerfalla Toure scored once each. Sophomore Brody Haynes made 24 saves in the victory. Senior Jordan Gonzalez scored the lone goal against Norwich, and Curtin turned away 34 shots in the setback.
• Domitrovic (14-14-28) and Kennedy (11-16-27) are two of the top four scorers in Division III, and Janis Vizbelis (9-13-22) is fourth in the league in scoring. Mastrangeli (2-13-15) tops the NEHC in assists by a defenseman, and senior Chance Gorman (7-7-14) and Reifler (6-8-14) are strong offensive threats for the Soaring Eagles, who lead the nation in power play percentage (.370) and rank third in scoring offense (4.82 goals/gm).
• Curtin (2.00 GAA, .942 sv. pct) has started 14 of Elmira's 17 games and leads the NEHC in saves (426) and ranks second in wins (11).
BAILEY EARNS NEHC HONOR
• Bailey was recognized as NEHC Player of the Week on Monday after his clutch performance in the win over Southern Maine.
• The senior blueliner recorded just the second multi-goal game of his career and finished with three points in all. He is tied for sixth in the NEHC in scoring by a defenseman and tied for fifth in assists by a D-man.

• The Beavers are 2-3-0 this season against teams in the US College Hockey Online (USCHO) top 15 Division III rankings.
