No. 7 Field Hockey Visits Connecticut College on Tuesday

SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 10-5 all-time against Connecticut College in a series that dates back to 1994.
• The Beavers have won the last seven meetings while outscoring the Camels 31-9.

LAST MEETING
• Sophomore Caroline DiGiovanni scored twice and had a hand in all three goals to help seventh-ranked Babson defeat visiting Connecticut College, 3-1, on September 6, 2022 at MacDowell Field.
• Junior Jessica Evans contributed a goal and an assist and graduate student Brianne McGrath recorded her first point of the season with a helper for the Beavers. Junior goalkeeper Bayla Furmanek made one save to earn her second win in as many starts.
• Sophomore Bridget McGann scored her first career goal and junior Sophie Moniz finished with six saves in her collegiate debut for the Camels.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (1-0) is coming off a 4-0 victory over Endicott in the season opener last Friday in Beverly, Mass.
• Graduate student Meara Hanyon tallied a goal and an assist for the Beavers, who scored twice in the first and third quarters.
McGrath, fellow graduate student Sinead Walsh and junior Berit Sharrow also scored for the Beavers and grad student Daniela Parrado-Nazal picked up an assist. Furmanek needed to make just one save for her ninth career shutout.
• The Green and White return eight starters and 17 veterans, including two All-Americans and five All-Region selections, from last year's squad that advanced to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals and finished with a 19-4 overall record.

SCOUTING THE CAMELS
• Connecticut College (0-0) will make its season debut on Tuesday after finishing last year's campaign with a 5-10 overall record.
• The Gulls return 23 veterans from last year's team that played nine games against nationally-ranked programs.
• McGann (11-3-25) tops the group of returnees after leading the team in scoring and earning All-Region second team honors. Sophomore Kendall Arnold (6-1-13) and seniors Kylee Quinn (3-3-9) and Bridget Mason (2-2-6) are also key returnees on offense.
• Moniz started 11 games in goal last fall and finished with a 4.14 goals against average and a .589 save percentage after making 66 saves.

FAMILIAR FACES
• Nine of Babson's 11 starters against Endicott were key players on last year's squad. They were joined by a pair of graduate student transfers in Walsh (Holy Cross) and Parrado-Nazal (UConn).
• The 10 players who came off the bench included five returning veterans, four first-years and graduate student transfer Jackie Hill (Colby).

STARTING STRONG
• Friday's result against Endicott marked the 14th time in the last 15 seasons that Babson has opened the year with a victory.
• Since 2019, the Beavers are 19-7 in the month of September with three of their losses coming against top-ranked Middlebury.

BABSON VS. THE NESCAC
• Tuesday matchup at Connecticut College is the first of five Babson regular season games this season against schools from the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC).
• The Beavers will also face No. 5 Williams on September 9, No. 22 Bates on September 13, No. 1 Middlebury on September 17 and No. 6 Tufts on September 26.
• The Green and White went 4-2 against the NESCAC each of the past two seasons and are 11-7 against the conference since 2019 with four of the losses off the sticks of top-ranked Middlebury.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Green and White have won 36 straight games since the start of the 2021 campaign when scoring the first goal of the game.
• Babson has won its last 34 games over the past two campaigns when leading at halftime.
• The Green and White have won 104 straight games since 2014 when scoring at least three times.
• The Beavers have won 67 of 69 contests since 2018 when holding opponents to less than two goals.

UP NEXT
• The Beavers return home to host Roger Williams on Thursday in the home opener at MacDowell Field at 6 p.m.
