No. 18 Men's Soccer Travels to Emerson for NEWMAC Match on Saturday

SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 10-0-0 with eight shutouts all-time against Emerson in a series that dates back to 2013.
• The Lions broke a six-game scoreless streak against the Green and White in last season's 3-1 regular season loss at Hartwell-Rogers Field.
• The Beavers are 5-0-0 all-time at Emerson's Rotch Field.

LAST MEETING
Ben Williams '23M scored the only goal of the match in the 63rd minute as No. 13/15 and top-seeded Babson defeated second-seeded Emerson, 1-0, in the NEWMAC Tournament final on November 5, 2022, at Hartwell-Rogers Field.
Noah Labelle '23 and senior Ryan Kim recorded assists for the Beavers, who got three saves from junior goalkeeper Walker White.
• Ethan Fitzsimmons finished with eight saves for the Lions in the loss.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 18 Babson (6-3-1, 1-0-0 NEWMAC) has won four of its last five games following Wednesday's dramatic 2-1 road victory over No. 3 Amherst.
• First-year Ted Rosenfeld scored his first career goal from 30 yards out with five seconds remaining in the game after senior Liam Rhatigan had tied the game in the 74th minute, with assists from classmate Joseph Cardaropoli and graduate student Ryan Grund. White made five saves in goal in the victory.
• Graduate student Sam Morgan (3-2-8) has seven points over the last four games, Rhatigan (3-0-6) has scored in back-to-back games and graduate student Justin Stone (2-0-4) is also a multi-goal scorer. Senior Louis Gazo (1-1-3) and first-year Will Lloyd (1-1-3) are tied for fourth on the team in points. 
• White (0.70 GAA, .863 sv. pct., 5 SO) has started 31 straight games going back to last season with 12 clean sheets.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
• Emerson (5-2-2, 0-2-0 NEWMAC) is coming off a 4-0 victory over Eastern Nazarene on Tuesday at Rotch Field on the heels of a 1-0 conference setback at WPI last Saturday.
• Junior Theodore Bushara scored twice for the Lions and first-year Rohan Edwards and sophomore Jorah Delbanco added one apiece in the victory. First-year Wylie Jelinek made six saves for his second clean sheet in three starts this season.
• Bushara (4-1-9) is tied for the NEWMAC lead in goals and tied for third in points while sophomore Evan Lee (1-4-6) shares the league lead in assists. Thomas Pelino (3-0-6) and Gregory Kopanezos (2-0-4) are also multi-goal scorers for the Lions.
• Beckett Hobbs (1.33 GAA, .771 sv. pct., 1 SO) is 2-2-2 in six starts while Jelinek (0.67 GAA, .920 sv. pct., 2 SO) is a perfect 3-0 in three starts.
 
UPPING THE OFFENSE
• After scoring just three goals over its first five matches, Babson has tallied 10 times over its last five outings.
• Eight different players have at least one marker this fall for the Beavers, a group that includes sophomore Liam Goldstein and first-years Will Lloyd, Alexander Yablonovskiy and Rosenfeld.

BEAVER BITES
• White ranks eighth in Division III with five shutouts and leads all of Division III with 900 minutes played.
• Babson has outshot its opponent in just three of its 10 games this season (St. Joseph's of Maine, WPI, Eastern Connecticut).

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• Seven of the Beavers' 10 games this season have been decided by a single goal or finished in a draw, and the other two were two-goal affairs.
• The Green and White has gone 6-1-1 on the year when conceding one goal or fewer. 
• Babson is 4-0 this fall and 30-0-2 since 2021 when scoring the opening goal of the match. 
• The Beavers have either held the lead or been tied going into halftime in eight of 10 contests this season.
