No. 15 Men's Soccer Hosts Unbeaten Connecticut College on Saturday

SERIES HISTORY 

•    Babson is 2-1-1 all-time against Connecticut College in a series that dates back to 1997.
•    The Beavers won the only match played between the sides at Hartwell Rogers Field, 2-1, back in 2019.
•    Saturday's match is just the fourth between the teams since 2009.

LAST MEETING
•    Elliot Spatz and Augie Djerdjaj scored less than eight minutes apart midway through the first half to help Connecticut College defeat Babson, 3-0, on October 12, 2022, in New London, Conn. 
•    Gaven Vanden Berg added a goal in the 77th minute for the Camels, who had five different players record an assist. 
•    Junior goalkeeper Walker White finished with seven saves for the Beavers, who were outshot 19-8. 

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
•    No. 15 Babson (5-2-1) has won three straight matches and is coming off a 2-0 victory over Eastern Connecticut State last Sunday. 
•    Graduate student Justin Stone scored in the 38th minute and classmate Sam Morgan tacked on an insurance marker in the 83rd minute for the Beavers, who got one save from White in the victory. 
•    Morgan (3-2-8) has scored in two of the last three games, Stone (2-0-4) owns a pair of game-winning tallies, and senior Louis Gazo and first-year Will Lloyd have both contributed a goal and an assist for a team that features 12 players with at least one point. 
•    White has started all eight contests posting a 0.50 goals against average to go along with a .889 save percentage and five clean sheets. 

SCOUTING THE CAMELS
•    Connecticut College (3-0-2) stayed unbeaten with a 2-1 win at Trinity on Wednesday night. 
•    Junior Jack Kelesoglu tied the game in the 80th minute and senior Matt Scoffone converted a penalty kick with 4:55 remaining in regulation as the Camels extended their road unbeaten streak to six matches. 
•    Scoffone (3-0-6) has notched a pair of game-winning markers, while Sam Boehm and Jake Creus have both scored twice for a squad that has gotten goals from seven different players over its first five outings. 
•    Peter Silvester has started all five matches and boasts a 0.43 goals against average to go along with an .800 save percentage and two shutouts. 

MORGAN EARNS NEWMAC RECOGNITION
•    After scoring three times and picking up an assist for seven points, Morgan was selected as the league's offensive player of the week on Monday. 
•    He scored both goals in the Beavers' 2-0 victory at Western New England on September 14 and had a goal and an assist in Sunday's win over Eastern Connecticut State. 

STREAKING BEAVERS
•    Babson has won 12 consecutive games on Hartwell-Rogers Field while outscoring its foes 32-2. 
•    Including a 0-0 draw with Suffolk on the turf of MacDowell Field on September 5, the Green and White is unbeaten in 13 straight matches at home since suffering a 3-1 loss to Amherst back on September 20 of last year. 

FINISHING TOUCH
•    After being limited to just three goals over their first five games, the Beavers erupted for seven markers in wins over Western New England, WPI and Eastern Connecticut State last week. 
•    In addition to Morgan's three tallies, Gazo scored his first goal of the year and Lloyd and fellow rookie Alexander Yablonovskiy notched their first collegiate markers as Babson opened NEWMAC play by defeating the Engineers last Saturday. 

GETTING TO KNOW THE NESCAC
•    Starting with Saturday's match against the 2021 national champions, Babson will play three of its next four games against opponents from the NESCAC. 
•    The Beavers visit No. 7 Amherst, which fell to Connecticut College on penalty kicks in the 2021 national championship game, on Wednesday and will host Tufts, which won four national titles from 2014-19, on October 3. 

NUMBERS TO KNOW
•    The Beavers are 5-1-1 this season when leading or tied at the half. 
•    Babson is 4-0 on the year unbeaten in 32 straight matches (30-0-2) when scoring the first goal of the game. 
•    The Green and White is 17-1-4 over the last two seasons when conceding one goal or fewer. 
•    Going back to 2021, the Beavers are 18-2-3 in Saturday matches.
