SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
•   Babson (1-0-0) opened the season with a 1-0 victory over Saint Joseph's (Maine) on Friday afternoon.Â

Liam Rhatigan forced a giveaway and scored his third career goal in the 39th minute for the Beavers, who got four saves from junior goalkeeper
Walker White.Â
•   The Green and White returns six players that started at least 11 matches and 21 players in all from a team that went 15-3-3 and made its third straight NCAA Tournament appearance last fall.Â

Louis Gazo (6-7-19) tallied four game-winning goals and finished second on the team in scoring in 2022, classmate
Ryan Kim tied for second on the squad with seven assists and graduate student
Ryan Grund finished with two goals and two assists for six points in 21 matches.Â
•   White started all 21 games and posted a 0.78 goals against average and a .800 save percentage to go along with seven clean sheets.Â
SCOUTING THE COMETS
•   Texas-Dallas (0-0-1) played to a 0-0 draw at Wheaton in its season opener on Friday afternoon.Â
•   Junior goalkeeper Michael Hesse made one save as the Comets and Lyons combined for just 12 total shots in the match.Â
•   Texas-Dallas, which was picked third in the ASC preseason poll, brings back eight starters and 16 players in all from a team that went 9-6-4 and reached the conference semifinals in 2022.Â
•   Junior Riley O'Donnell (8-4-20) and senior Kane Kidwell (7-4-18) led the team in scoring, while senior Kayson Marriott contributed four goals and two assists for finish fourth on the squad with 10 points.Â
•   Hesse started 14 of 19 games last fall posting a 1.49 goals against average and three shutouts.Â
STREAKING BEAVERS
•   The Green and White, which closed the 2022 campaign with an eight-game unbeaten streak, has now earned a result in nine consecutive matches, which is the program's longest stretch without a loss since 2016 when it went 11 matches between setbacks.Â
•   Babson has won nine consecutive games on Hartwell-Rogers Field, a run that includes eight straight shutouts going back to October 1 of last year.Â
FAMILIAR PLACE ATOP THE POLL
•   After winning their third consecutive NEWMAC Tournament championship last November, Babson was picked to repeat when the conference released its preseason coaches' poll last week.Â
•   The Beavers collected seven of a possible nine first-place votes to finish atop the poll with 61 points. Wheaton, which they defeated in last year's conference semifinals, came in second while MIT, WPI and Emerson, the 2022 NEWMAC Tournament runner-up, rounded out the top five.Â
HITTING THE PORTAL
•   Despite graduating 11 players from last year's squad, head coach
Jon Anderson '75 and his staff have added 12 players to the roster, which includes a trio of graduate transfers.Â

Justin Stone registered four goals and four assists during his four-year career at Davidson, while
Sam Morgan from West Virginia and
Owen Guglielmino from UConn joined the Beavers following successful Division I careers and were part of the starting XI in Friday's opener.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
•   The Beavers are 27-0-2 when scoring the opening goal of the match over the last two seasons.Â
•   Babson has won 18 straight games when scoring at least two goals dating back to the start of the 2021 campaign.
•   The Green and White also has won its last 19 matches when leading at halftime, a run that stretches back to October 2019.
•   The Beavers have not conceded a goal at home in over 733 minutes going back to last fall.
