BABSON PARK, Mass.—Following a successful two-year stint as the as an assistant men's ice hockey coach at Babson College, Jim Gaudet was announced as the new boys hockey coach at Milton Academy earlier this spring.

Gaudet came to Babson in October 2021 and helped the Beavers capture a New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Tournament championship in addition to advancing to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals on the way to posting a 20-6-2 record in 2021-22. Babson's 2022-23 squad, which featured 15 first-year players, concluded the year at 17-9-2 overall after reaching its second consecutive conference championship game.

"Jim made an tremendous impact on our program, both coaching and recruiting, during his two seasons here at Babson," commented head coach Jamie Rice '90.  "Jim is a great coach, tireless worker and his greatest strength is his ability to connect with the players on a personal level.  We are thankful for all he has done for Babson hockey and thrilled for Jim and his family on this exciting opportunity. I am confident he will continue the proud tradition of excellence at Milton Academy, both off of and on the ice."

Gaudet takes over a Milton Academy program that was led by Paul Cannata from 2003-2023. The Mustangs captured the 2011 New England Prep School championship and won three Independent School League crowns in addition to having four National Hockey League (NHL) draft picks.

"I am very excited for the new opportunity ahead of me at Milton Academy," said Gaudet. "I want to thank Coach Rice for giving me the opportunity to work at Babson two years ago. It has been an incredible experience and I have learned so much during my time here that will be invaluable for me in the future.

I also want to thank all the Babson players and staff for allowing me to be part of the family and helping to make these last two years so enjoyable. Babson is a special place and I look forward to seeing what great things the school, hockey program, and other athletic programs will continue to accomplish in the years to come."

A four-year letterwinner at Dartmouth College from 2008-12, Gaudet has over a decade of coaching experience, which includes recent stints with the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs (2020-21) and the Boston Bandits (2018-20).
