SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 0-1 all-time against Williams in a series that started in 2022.
• Saturday's game will be the Ephs' first visit to Babson Park.
LAST MEETING
• Junior Pearse Glavin led all players with three goals and No. 18 USILA/15 Inside Lacrosse Williams used a nine-goal run that spanned parts of three quarters to defeat visiting Babson, 16-7, on April 9, 2022 at Farley-Lamb Field.
• Junior Connor Karsh recorded a goal and an assist and was one of seven different players to score for the Beavers. Classmate Grey Sunderland also had a goal and won 11-of-23 face-offs, senior Kyle Sanborn led all players with six ground balls and Mac Mowat '22 made seven of the team's 11 saves between the pipes.
• Jake Haase '22 recorded two goals and two assists and sophomore Harrison Cross scored a pair of goals to lead the Ephs. James Hemmer contributed four ground balls and four caused turnovers, junior Noah Dewbrey won 12-of-23 face-offs, and Will Bock '22 finished with eight saves in the win.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (7-2, 3-0 NEWMAC) has won two straight and six of its last seven including a 23-12 road victory over UMass Boston Tuesday at James Cotter Field in Boston. The only loss in the last seven games was a 13-12 road setback to No. 10/15 Bowdoin.
• Senior goalie Will Parducci made a career-high 24 saves in the UMass Boston victory as the Beacons were held to 12 goals after scoring at least 21 goals in six straight games. Senior Chi Chi Price matched his career highs with six goals and eight points, classmate Matt Stucchi tallied one goal and a career-high five assists as Babson went on an 11-1 run over a 15-minute span in the second half. First-year Bennett Smith produced three goals and an assist, graduate student Ryan Kenney scored two goals and added two assists and grad student Will Spangenberg chipped in with two goals and one assist.
• Spangenberg (27-23-50) is ranked 25th in Division III in assists per game and 21st in points per game. Price (33-3-36) and Kenney (27-9-36) are tied for 44th in goals per game while Smith (14-8-22) has eight goals and two assists in his last two games.
• Junior Dillon Quinn (13) and senior Hayden Bean (7) have combined for 20 caused turnovers. Parducci (7-2, 10.88 GAA, .585 sv. pct) leads the NEWMAC in goals against average and save percentage and ranks 26th in Division III in save percentage and 18th in saves per game.
SCOUTING THE EPHS
• Williams (5-4, 4-2 NESCAC) is coming off a 14-11 setback at No. 2 Tufts on Wednesday in Medford, Mass. The teams were tied at 11 early in the fourth quarter before Tufts pulled out the win.
• First-year Will Doran scored three goals and added two assists for the Ephs, while junior Calvin Caputo finished with two goals and two assists, classmate Nick Bates scored twice and sophomore Harrison Cross notched a goal and two assists. Junior Otto Nicholson scooped up six ground balls, senior Ian DiPietro registered four ground balls and four caused turnovers, and senior Matthew Freitas made 13 saves in the tough-luck loss.
• Caputo (21-14-35) leads the team in scoring while Glavin (15-8-23) and junior Finlay MacKnight (12-9-21) are also offensive threats. First-year Ian Kim has won 64-of-143 face-offs, DiPietro has collected a team-high 41 ground balls, and junior Patrick Gaul has a team-high 16 caused turnovers.
• Freitas (5-4, 9.78 GAA, .605 sv. pct) has started all nine Eph games and is 25th in Division III in save percentage.
ALL CLEAR
• Babson enters Saturday's contest ranked first in Division III with a .923 clearing percentage through nine games, which includes being successful on 26 of 27 clearing chances on Tuesday at UMass Boston.
• The Beavers' opponents have been successful on just .791 percent of their clearing chances and only Union (17-of-21), Bowdoin (15-of-15) and Springfield (19-of-21) have converted more than 80 percent of their opportunities.
BUSY BEAVERS
• Parducci has made at least 13 saves in each of his last three games and seven of his last eight, with at least a 56.0 save percentage in all seven, including at least 67.1 percent in his last two.
• Spangenberg has eight straight multi-goal games and has collected at least five points in four of his last five.
• Price has scored at least three goals in six games this spring, with five five-point outings, and Kenney has seven consecutive multi-goal games and at least four points in seven straight games.
• Smith has at least one point in all nine games, at least two points in the last six and at least three points in four of his last five.
PILING UP THE POINTS
• With 50 points through nine games, Spangenberg has more points than Price totaled in 2022 when he led the team in scoring with 43 points (35g, 8a).
• Only Samuel Mishkind '19 (43-12-55) in 2019 has more points in a season than Spangenberg since Alex Patinkin '13 accumulated 68 points (32-36) in 2013.
BEAVER BITES
• Price has scored at least one goal in 15 consecutive games dating back to last season.
• Spangenberg has scored a goal in 13 straight and recorded at least one point in 17 in a row, both dating back to last season when he played at Holy Cross.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers are 7-1 this season, 15-5 since last year and 22-5 over the last four seasons when scoring at least 10 goals.
• Babson is 26-3 when allowing eight goals or fewer going back to the start of 2018.
• The Beavers are 21-1 over the last four seasons when leading at halftime.
