SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 2-6 all-time against Trinity in a series that dates back to 1980.
• The Beavers went 1-3 against the Bantam when the teams met four straight years from 2015-18.
• The Green and White captured a 17-6 victory in Babson Park back in 2017 before suffering a 13-12 road loss in 2018.
LAST MEETING
• Samuel Mishkind '19 led all scorers with five goals as visiting Babson fell to Trinity, 13-12, on March 27, 2018 at Jessee/Miller Field in Hartford, Conn.
• Niall Dillon '19 scored three goals and added one assist, Brendan Duffy '19 recorded two goals and an assist, while Axel Brown '18 and Owen Allen '20 both chipped in with a goal and an assist. Christopher Aranalde '20 logged nine saves in the loss for the Beavers, who had a 39-31 advantage in shots.
• Ben Knaus '19 registered four goals and an assist, Max DeLaMater '19 netted two goals and an assist, and Andrew Collins '20 chipped in with two goals. Teddy Myers '19 scored and goal and recorded a game-high three assists, while Drew Kozub '21 and Morty Feary '20 both posted a goal and an assist. Scott Morgan '19 won 19-of-25 faceoffs while picking up 13 groundballs, while Woody Hamilton '18 logged 13 saves to the win as Trinity had a 21-7 advantage in faceoffs and 32-22 margin in ground balls.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (1-1, 0-0 NEWMAC) suffered its first loss of the season to No. 5 USILA/No. 6 Inside Lacrosse Union (N.Y.), 14-9, back on February 26 at MacDowell Field.
• Graduate student Will Spangenberg registered a career-best six-goal performance and added an assist for the Beavers in the loss. Senior Chi Chi Price, first-year Bennett Smith and graduate student Ryan Kenney scored one goal each, senior Nick Solomon had one assist, and senior goalie Will Parducci made 16 saves in an impressive performance in goal.
• Spangenberg (7-5-12) leads the team in scoring while Price (6-0-6) and junior Jacob Tauss (1-5-6) are tied for second in points. Junior Grey Sunderland has won 24-of-42 face-offs and has a team-high 12 ground balls.
• Parducci has an 11.59 goals against average and a 50.0 save percentage.
SCOUTING THE BANTAMS
• Trinity (0-1, 0-1 NESCAC) was on the short end of a 16-6 decision to Williams in its season opener last Saturday in Williamstown, Mass.
• Sophomore Jon Krikorian notched two goals and two assists and junior Andrew Bailey added two goals and one assist for the Bantams, who trailed 14-1 midway through the third quarter. Junior Matt Pecora contributed a goal and an assist, classmate Connor Sullivan scored once, and graduate student Harrison Ike had an assist.
• Junior Dane Crowley won 16-of-24 faceoffs and picked up a team-high 10 ground balls and classmate Cooper Yaccino made 22 saves in goal in the setback.
• The Bantams are coming off a 6-8 campaign in 2022, including a 2-8 mark in the NESCAC.
NCAA STATS
• The Beavers are ranked 32nd among 236 Division III schools in the NCAA in fewest turnovers per game (16.5) and 44th in clearing percentage (86.0)
• Spangenberg is ranked 24th in points per game (6.0) and Spangenberg and Tauss are tied for 52nd in assists per fame (2.5).
BEAVER BITES
• Seven different players have scored goals for the Beavers this season, and six different players have posted at least two points.
• In addition to Sunderland (12 GB), Price (7), senior Kyle Sanborn (6) and Kenney (5) have been tops on the team in ground balls.
• Senior Hayden Bean has a team-best three caused turnovers and juniors Brendan Maher and Robert Wilson and Spangenberg have two each.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers are 16-4 over the last four seasons when scoring at least 10 goals.
• Babson is 25-3 when allowing eight goals or fewer going back to the start of 2018.
• The Beavers are 15-1 over the last three seasons when leading at halftime.
• The Green and White are 8-2 over the past two years when recording eight or more caused turnovers.
