Louis Gazo broke a scoreless deadlock with 46 seconds to go in regulation to help the Beavers defeat Wheaton, 1-0, in a NEWMAC Tournament semifinal on November 3, 2022, in Babson Park.

• No. 8 Babson (8-3-3, 3-0-0 NEWMAC) in unbeaten over its last five matches after erasing a pair of one-goal deficits in Tuesday's 2-2 draw with Brandeis.

SCOUTING THE LYONS
• Wheaton (3-3-6, 1-0-2 NEWMAC) ended a five-game winless skid with a 2-0 victory over Roger Williams last Sunday.
• Avery Dinham opened the scoring in the 63rd minute and picked up an assist on Baden McLaughlin's 80th-minute goal for the Lyons, who got a pair of second-half saves from Michael O'Gara.
• Alberto Franceschi (2-2-6) has one game-winning goal, Robert Lloyd has scored twice and Joey Everett has a team-high four assists.
• O'Gara (3-1-6) has started 10 of 12 matches and owns a 0.40 goals against average to go along with a .900 save percentage and six clean sheets.
GAZO EARNS CONFERENCE RECOGNITION
• After playing all 90 minutes at center back in shutouts against Tufts and Salve Regina, Gazo was chosen as the NEWMAC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
• In addition to his work defensively, he scored the game-winning goal in the 84th minute as the Beavers edged the Seahawks 1-0 last Saturday.
NEWMAC SUCCESS
• Babson, which has captured three consecutive NEWMAC Tournament championships, have won 15 straight matches against conference foes going back to October 2021.
• Going back to 2018, the Beavers are 24-1-6 in regular season matches against league foes.
SECOND-HALF SCORING
• The Beavers have scored 16 goals after halftime this season and are outscoring their foes 16-6 in the second half.
• Rhatigan has scored a pair of game-tying goals in the 70th minute or later and Gazo (84th minute at Salve Regina) and first-year
Ted Rosenfeld (90th minute at Amherst) have both notched game-winning markers over the final six minutes of regulation.

• The men's soccer program has teamed up with Fred Hussey '84, Babson Hall of Famer and member of the Beavers' 1979 and 1980 national champion teams
George Salvitti '81, and the American Cancer Society in the fight against breast cancer through the Mean Wear Pink campaign.
