SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 6-1 all-time against Johnson & Wales in a series that dates back to 2006.
• The Beavers won five in a row against the Wildcats from 2006-11.

LAST MEETING
• Mark Webber '18, Nicholas Browne '19 and Brian McHale '19 finished with three hits apiece as Babson defeated Johnson & Wales, 10-6, on March 30, 2018, in Providence, R.I.
• Webber and McHale both drove in a pair of runs and Sean Harrington '20 went 2-for-5 with a home run and three BI for the Beavers, who took the lead for good with a three-run sixth inning.
• Edison Mercado and sophomore Vin Amalfitano both recorded three hits and drove in a run to lead the Wildcats.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (19-8) extended its winning streak to eight with a 5-3 come-from-behind victory over Clark on Tuesday afternoon.
• Junior Jackson Kelly and first-year Justin Guest tied the game with RBI singles in the seventh and junior Francis Kiely and sophomore Tanner Santos plated runs in the eighth for the Beavers, who recorded just one hit over the first six innings.
• Senior Thomas Lapham is batting .350 with four extra-base hits, 16 RBI and team highs of 21 walks, 11 stolen bases and 33 runs scored, classmate Josh Yellen is hitting .340 with five extra-base hits and a team-high 24 runs batted in, and Kelly enters the day with a .314 average to go along with three doubles, two home runs and 16 RBI.
• Junior Anthony St. John (4-0, 3.05 ERA), classmate Tim Noone (5-1, 3.31 ERA) and sophomore Tristen Spalter (4-2, 3.05 ERA) are a combined 13-3 this spring, while the trio of senior Will Cournan (1-0) and juniors Stephen McLendon (2-1, 4 saves) and Tim Person (2-0) boast a 1.91 ERA to go along with 57 strikeouts in 42.1 innings out of the bullpen.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
• Johnson & Wales (10-19) has won six of its last eight games after beating Dean 11-6 to finish off a doubleheader sweep last Saturday.
• Trevor Jaun, Xavier Botelho, Thorin Sanchez-Guerra and Riley Hasson all homered and combined to drive in eight runs for the Wildcats, who got six strikeouts over 6.0 innings from Kyle Cutler.
• Griffin Snyder is batting .321 with 10 doubles, four homers and 19 runs batted in, EJ Leone is hitting .309 with 12 extra-base hits, 29 RBI and 27 runs scored, and Juan checks in at .279 with nine doubles, four home runs, 26 RBI and 27 runs this spring.
• Cutler (3-0, 3.10 ERA) has 33 strikeouts in 29.0 innings pitched, Jake McDonough is 1-2 with a 4.88 ERA in 27.2 innings of work and Aidan Vining (0-2, 4.91 ERA) has recorded 21 strikeouts over 14.2 innings.
KELLY, SPALTER SWEEP NEWMAC WEEKLY AWARDS
• Kelly batted .474 with three doubles, nine RBI and seven runs scored on the way to earning conference player of the week honors, while Spalter went 2-0 with a 0.90 ERA and held hitters to a .142 average in 10.0 innings of work on the way to being named NEWMAC Pitcher of the Week on Monday.
• Kelly drove in a run in each of Babson's five games last week and matched the program's single-game record and tied for the most hits by a Division III player with six in Saturday's game two victory over Emerson.
• Spalter tossed six shutout innings to earn the win last Monday against Coast Guard and then allowed one run on one hit in 4.0 innings of relief to pick up another win in the nightcap of Saturday's twin bill against Emerson.
BEAVER BITES
• Lapham has reached base in 20 consecutive games going back to March 16 and both he and first-year Walter Sadowsky enter the day riding eight-game hitting streaks.
• Yellen leads the Beavers with 11 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games.
• With its victory on Tuesday, Babson has now recorded a winning streak of eight games or longer in each of its last five full seasons of competition going back to 2017.
