SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 61-21 all-time against Clark in a series that dates back to the 1983 campaign.
• The Beavers are 9-7 versus the Cougars going back to 2013, which includes doubleheader sweeps in both 2019 and 2021.
• Babson has won its last four games against Clark at Govoni Field dating back to 2016.

LAST MEETING
• Seniors Jack Pirkl and Andrew Dembowski both recorded three hits and Babson scored at least one run in each of the first five innings en route to a 15-3 win over Clark to complete a doubleheader sweep on May 1, 2021, in Worcester, Mass.
• Sophomore Jack Julian homered and was one of four players to drive in a pair of runs along with seniors Sean Burychka and Thomas Lapham and sophomore Francis Kiely for the Beavers, who finished with 19 hits in the contest.
• Derek Lefebvre homered and drove in two runs for the Cougars, who finished with just six hits.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (18-8, 8-1 NEWMAC) extended its winning streak to seven and wrapped up a three-game sweep of Emerson with an 18-6 eight-inning victory on Saturday afternoon.
• Junior Jackson Kelly went 6-for-6 with two doubles and six RBI and Tanner Santos doubled, tripled and walked twice for the Beavers, who scored in all but one inning.
• Lapham is batting .347 with four extra-base hits, 16 RBI and team highs of 19 walks, 11 stolen bases and 32 runs scored, Yellen is hitting .340 with five extra-base hits and a team-high 23 runs batted in, and Burychka enters the week with a .322 average to go along with seven doubles, a triple, two home runs and 22 RBI.
• Junior Anthony St. John (4-0, 3.05 ERA), classmate Tim Noone (5-1, 3.31 ERA) and sophomore Tristen Spalter (4-2, 3.05 ERA) are a combined 13-3 this spring, while the trio of senior Will Cournan (1-0) and juniors Stephen McClendon (1-1, 4 saves) and Tim Person (2-0) boasts a 2.06 ERA to go along with 50 strikeouts in 39.1 innings out of the bullpen.

SCOUTING THE COUGARS
• Clark (13-10, 3-6 NEWMAC) dropped the finale of a three-game series with Coast Guard, 9-6, on Saturday afternoon.
• First-year CJ Johnson homered and drove in three runs for the Cougars, who led 5-2 in the fifth and 6-4 after six before allowing five runs in the bottom of the ninth.
• Sophomore Samuel Farrell is batting .341 with three doubles, four homers and 13 runs batted in, junior Ryan Caufield boasts a .456 on-base percentage to go along with a team-high 17 walks and eight RBI, and graduate student Chris Radovic is hitting .255 with five home runs and 17 runs batted in.
• Sophomore Maxwell Gitlin (2-2, 5.52 ERA) struck out six and allowed four runs over 8.0 innings last Tuesday against Wheaton, junior Casey Gorczyca struck out nine over 7.0 shutout innings versus Worcester State last Wednesday, and senior Zachary Gitschier has one save and a 1.86 ERA in six relief appearances.

KELLY, SPALTER SWEEP NEWMAC WEEKLY AWARDS
• Kelly batted .474 with three doubles, nine RBI and seven runs scored on the way to earning conference player of the week honors, while Spalter went 2-0 with a 0.90 ERA and held hitters to a .142 average in 10.0 innings of work on the way to being named NEWMAC Pitcher of the Week on Monday.
• Kelly drove in a run in each of Babson's five games last week and matched the program's single-game record and tied for the most hits by a Division III player with six in Saturday's game two victory over Emerson.
• Spalter tossed six shutout innings to earn the win last Monday against Coast Guard and then allowed one run on one hit in 4.0 innings of relief to pick up another win in the nightcap of Saturday's twin bill against Emerson.

STANDING TALL AT THE MIDWAY POINT
• Entering the final two weeks of NEWMAC regular season play, Babson is in first place at 8-1 with a one-game lead over west division leader Coast Guard (7-2) and a two-game lead over its closest competitor in the east, Wheaton (6-3).

BEAVER BITES
• Lapham has reached base in 19 consecutive games going back to March 16 and both he and first-year Walter Sadowsky enter the week riding seven-game hitting streaks.
• Yellen leads the Beavers with 11 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games.
• Babson has scored seven or more runs in every game during its seven-game winning streak, something it had not done since 2000, when it put up at least eight runs while going 6-1 during a seven-game stretch from April 2-13.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers are 14-3 this season when scoring first and 10-1 when scoring in the first inning.
• Babson is 18-4 on the year when scoring at least three runs and 16-2 when allowing five runs or less.
• The Green and White is 13-1 when finishing with more hits than its opponents.
• All nine of the Beavers' NEWMAC games this spring have been decided by at least three runs.
