SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 6-3 all-time against Roger Williams in a series that dates back to 2010.
• The Beavers have won two straight games and three of their last four against the Hawks since 2014.
• Babson, which has won two straight on the road in the series, will make just its third trip to Bristol, R.I., since 2013 on Thursday.
LAST MEETING
• Nicholas Browne '19 and Matthew Valente '20 M'21 both drove in three runs while Tyler Bell '21 recorded the final four outs to record his first career save as Babson outlasted Roger Williams, 11-9, on April 3, 2019, in Bristol, R.I.
• Browne was 2-for-3 with a double, a homer, two walks and two runs scored, while Valente singled and walked twice in addition to scoring four times for the Beavers, who went in front for good with a four-run sixth inning.
• Danny Roth was 3-for-5 with a homer and two RBI and Justin Stone and senior Tommy Hobin finished with three hits apiece for the Hawks.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (9-5) had its five-game winning streak come to an end in a 7-1 loss to Suffolk at Govoni Field on Wednesday.
• Senior Thomas Lapham singled twice and classmate Josh Yellen went 1-for-2 with a pair of walks for the Beavers, who were limited to just six hits in the loss.
• Lapham is batting .375 with two doubles, six stolen bases and 15 runs scored, senior Sean Burychka is hitting .365 with seven extra-base hits and 13 runs batted in, and Yellen owns a .352 average to go along with one double 10 RBI and 11 runs scored.
• Junior Anthony St. John is 1-0 with a 3.98 ERA in 20.1 innings, classmate Tim Noone (2-1, 6.61 ERA) has recorded 15 strikeouts while allowing no runs over his last 12 innings of work, and fellow junior Stephen McLendon is 1-1 with four saves and a 2.13 ERA in nine appearances out of the bullpen.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS
• Roger Williams (14-1) has won its last four games and is coming off a 9-7 victory over UMass Boston on Wednesday afternoon.
• Tyler Cedeno went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI and Ben Bonavita singled twice and scored three times for the Hawks, who scored five runs in the fourth inning to build a 6-2 lead.
• Christopher Flynn is batting .400 with 11 extra-base hits, 16 runs scored and 21 runs batted in, Cedeno is hitting .382 with six doubles and 11 RBI and Bonavita enters the day with a .351 average to go along with seven extra-base hits, 12 RBI and 18 runs scored.
• Justin Garcia (3-0, 0.89 ERA) has recorded 39 strikeouts in 20.1 innings, Chris Flynn (3-0, 1.83) has fanned 35 in 19.2 innings of work and Adam Harz has recorded two saves in five relief appearances.
BEAVER BITES
• Lapham is riding a seven-game hitting streak that includes five multi-hit outings.
• Burychka (6) and senior Jack Pirkl (3) both extended their hitting streaks in Wednesday's loss to Suffolk, while Yellen has now reached base in 16 consecutive games going back to last year.
• The Beavers are 4-1 on the road this season which includes winning two of three games at No. 22 Trinity (Texas) in San Antonio to open the season.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers rank eighth in Division III in walks allowed per nine innings (2.50), are 14th in Division III in fielding percentage (.973) and the pitching staff is currently 27th in the country in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.06).
• Babson is 8-0 on the year when allowing five runs or less.
• The Green and White is 5-0 when finishing with more hits than its foes this season.
