SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 2-21 all-time against Bowdoin in a series that dates back to 1978.
• Wednesday's contest is just the fourth over the last two decades between the teams.
• The Beavers, who are looking for their first win over the Polar Bears since 1981, suffered a 12-6 loss in their last trip to Brunswick back in 2016.
LAST MEETING
• Sophomore Chris Fowler scored four times, Jeff Powers had three goals and sophomore Will Murtaugh dished out four assists as part of a five-point day as Bowdoin defeated the Beavers, 19-8, on March 13, 2019, in Babson Park.
• Sam Carlin won 20-of-25 face-offs and scooped up 15 ground balls for the Polar Bears, who opened the game with seven consecutive goals.
• Junior Alex Lesher scored three goals and classmate Jack Tague finished with nine ground balls and four caused turnovers to lead the Babson defense.
SCOUTING THE POLAR BEARS
• Bowdoin (0-2) is coming off an 8-7 loss at Hamilton on Saturday.
• Zach Chandler scored twice, Donal Mullane dished out two assists and Jack O'Connor made 12 saves for the Polar Bears, who led by a goal with under five minutes to play.
• Fowler (6-1-7) and first-year Matt Ward (5-0-5) combined to score nine goals in a season-opening loss at Middlebury, while Mullane (1-4-5) leads the team in assists.
• Junior Henry Savage leads the defense with five caused turnovers, first-year Ethan Barnard has won 29-of-49 of his face-offs (.592), and O'Connor has posted a 12.00 goals against average and a .529 save percentage in two starts.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (3-2) is looking to bounce back from a 13-9 loss to Rensselaer on Saturday.
• Senior Owen Allen, junior Ethan Carpenter and sophomore Ryan Donovan all scored twice for the Beavers, who led 7-5 at halftime.
• Allen (11-3-14) has posted three multi-goal games, senior Matthew MacCune (5-9-14) leads the team in assists, and Carpenter (4-5-9) finished last week with seven points in two outings.
• Junior John Antaya leads the defense with 19 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers, while senior Christopher Aranalde boasts a .927 goals against average to go along with a .545 save percentage in five starts between the pipes.
ADDING ANOTHER NEWMAC HONOR
• Carpenter became the fourth Babson player to be recognized over the first three weeks of the season when he tabbed as the league's offensive player of the week on Monday.
• He matched his career high with five points on a goal and four assists in last Wednesday's win over Endicott and added two goals against Rensselaer.
REGIONAL RECOGNITION
• The Beavers checked in at No. 7 in the latest New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) poll released on Monday after being unranked to begin the year.
• Western New England is the lone squad from outside the NESCAC ranked among the top six, while Bowdoin is currently 10th. Babson is the lone NEWMAC school ranked in this week's poll.
BEAVER BITES
• Sophomore goalie Austin O'Brien played a season-high 34 minutes in relief of last year's loss to Bowdoin, stopping a career-high 12 shots.
• Senior long pole Thomas Calvert scored his only goal of 2019 campaign in last year's setback against the Polar Bears.
• Lesher's hat track in last year's loss was the first of his career.

• The Beavers have scored at least one man-up goal in seven consecutive games going back to last April.
