PROVIDENCE, R.I.—Sophomore Ashley Tango (Reading, Mass.) scored three goals and had one assist, all in the first half, as eighth-ranked Babson College overpowered Johnson & Wales University, 10-0, in non-conference field hockey action on Thursday night.

With its third straight win, Babson is now 8-1 on the year, while Johnson & Wales drops to 3-5.

First-year Kate Driscoll (Milton, Mass.) scored a pair of goals and sophomore Lauren Drakeley (Woodbury, Mass.) recorded three assists for the Beavers, who got points from nine different players. Merrigan opened the scoring off a feed from Tango just over five minutes into the contest and Tango followed with three consecutive goals in less than 11 minutes to give the Green and White a 4-0 lead at the 16:08 mark. Sophomore Brielle Schafroth-Bach (Rye, N.H.) set up Towers' 11th tally of the year just past the midway point of the stanza and Smith scored in the 32nd minute to make it 6-0 at halftime.

Spofford converted Drakeley's third assist of the game for a seven-goal lead at the 42:14 mark. Driscoll notched her first collegiate marker, and the first of two on the night, just over five minutes later, while Roche found the back of the cage for her first career tally in the 51st minute.

First-year Deirdre Barry (Longmeadow, Mass.) was not forced to make a save over the first 54:42, while classmate Prerna Khemlani (Closter, N.J.) stopped one shot over the final 15 minutes in her collegiate debut for Babson.
