DEDHAM, Mass.—Senior Morgan Lockwood (Feeding Hills, Mass.) scored a pair of goals and tacked on two assists to become the program's all-time leading scorer as Babson College defeated Clark University 5-0 in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) field hockey action on Saturday afternoon at Dedham Field.

Babson is now 3-4 overall and 1-0 in the NEWMAC while Clark drops to 3-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

With six points on the afternoon, Lockwood passed Elise Conley '06 and now has the most points in program history with 189. She also tied Conley, who is the only two-time All-American in Babson field hockey history, for most career goals with 77.

Junior Caroline Malone (Walpole, Mass.) had a goal and two assists, senior Julia Pochini (Acton, Mass.) scored once and added an assist, and sophomore Melanie Jordan (Westford, Mass.) notched her first goal of the season for the Green and White.

Malone opened the scoring just 8:12 into the contest with her fifth goal of the season off a feed from Lockwood. First-year Kelsi McDougle (Hopedale, Mass.) collected a loose ball following a Clark turnover at midfield and hit Lockwood, who carried the ball into the circle before sliding a pass to Malone at the left post for a 1-0 lead.

Malone returned the favor a short time later, finding Pochini with her insert on a penalty corner to set up Lockwood's blast from the edge of the circle, giving the Beavers a 2-0 lead at the 16:54 mark. Pochini gave Babson a three-goal lead just 2:06 into the second half when she converted a centering pass from Lockwood, and Lockwood followed with her record-breaking goal just under four minutes later, knocking home a loose ball following a scramble in front of the net for a 4-0 bulge.

Jordan capped the scoring with her goal following a penalty corner at the 58:47 mark to secure the Beavers first NEWMAC victory of the season.

Senior goalkeeper Kayla Florence (Milton, Mass.) played the first 51:48 for Babson before being relieved by sophomore Kayla Costa (Watertown, Mass.) for the final 18:12. Neither keeper was forced to make a save in the win. Sophomore Christine Tinsman (Prairie Village, Kans.) made four stops for Clark, which was outshot 19-3 for the game.

Both teams are in back in action on Tuesday as Babson will host the University of New England at 7:30 p.m. while Clark travels to Anna Maria for a 4:30 p.m. start.

Game Notes: Babson is now 13-15-2 all-time against Clark and has won the last 10 meetings in the series going back to 2004...The Beavers have won nine consecutive regular season games against NEWMAC opponents...Babson has registered five shutouts in its last 10 games against conference opponents.
