HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Bantams outscored the visiting Babson College Beavers, 10-4, in the second half en route to an 18-12 men's lacrosse victory this afternoon on Jessee/Miller Field.  Trinity, ranked No. 5 in New England and No. 14 in the nation, improves to 9-2 overall with its first win in three games, while the Beavers drop to 7-6 and end a three-game winning streak.

With the game knotted at 8-8 at the half, Trinity senior attackman Greg Brennan (Setauket, N.Y.) scored the go-ahead goal 1:11 into the third quarter from sophomore midfielder Nick Shaheen (Williamsburg, Mass.), and Bantam sophomore attackman Rob Nogueras (Parkland, Fla.) netted the second of his game-high five goals 27 seconds later. The teams traded goals for the remainder of the third stanza, but the Bantams rattled off four unanswered tallies, including two man-down goals, in the first 3:48 of the fourth frame to put the game out of reach.

Neither team held more than a one-goal lead in the first half, as Beaver senior captain attackman Armand Wilson (Fairfield, Conn.) scored twice and assisted on a third Babson goal before the break. Eight different Trinity players scored once in the first half. Shaheen tied the game at 8-8 with 36 seconds left in the second quarter.

Shaheen led all scorers with seven points on three goals and four assists, while Nogueras added an assist to his five goals. Bantam senior attackman Kevin Looby (Kansas City, Mo.) notched a hat trick plus a helper.
