WELLESLEY, Mass.—First-year Anita Wang (Phoenix, Ariz.) carded a 3-over 75 in her collegiate debut to lead the Babson College women's golf team to a second-place finish at the Ann S. Batchelder Tri-Match on Saturday afternoon at Nehoiden Golf Club. 

The Beavers posted a team score of 29-over 317 to finish behind Wellesley (301) and well ahead of third-place Saint Anselm (359) in the debut for new head coach Alexander Jones, who was hired as just the second coach in program history back in July. 

Wang, who was even through 11 holes, made a pair of birdies to finish in a three-way tie for third place behind Jessica Li (4-under) and Sophia Lewis (2-over) of Wellesley. Sophomore Katie Yang (Orlando, Fla.) played her final 16 holes in 3-over and made birdies on Nos. 7 and 15 on the way to shooting a 6-over 78 to tie for seventh place. 

Junior Camila Amaya (Singer Island, Fla.) birdied three of the four par 5's and carded a 7-over 79 to finish in a tie for 10th position, senior Laura Lu (Chengdu, China) shot 85 to tie for 18th and classmate Victoria Salim (Semarang, Indonesia) posted an 88 to grab a share of 20th place. 

Babson also had three players competing in the event as individuals, highlighted by sophomore Vanya Bansal (Noida, India) tying for seventh place with a 6-over 78. She made birdies on the par-4 third hole and the par-4 16th while playing the final 12 holes in 3-over. 

Sophomore Francesca Choquette (New York, N.Y.) made two birdies and fired an 8-over 80 to grab a share of 11th place in her collegiate debut, while senior Michelle Guan (Brooklyn, N.Y.) shot a 92. 

Babson will return to action next Saturday when it travels to Brunswick, Maine, to compete in the 36-hole Polar Bear Shootout at Brunswick Golf Club.

•    Wang's 75 is the second lowest score by a Babson player in three stroke-play rounds at Nehoiden GC over the last two seasons. 
•    Bansal owns a 75.67 average in three rounds at Nehoiden GC, which includes a program-best 73 on September 14, 2025.
