Taconic Golf Club | Williamstown, Mass.

WHAT TO KNOW

•    The Babson women's golf team will compete against a number of the top teams in the northeast region at the Williams Invitational beginning on Saturday.
•    The 36-hole tournament features 14 teams that are set to play 18 holes on both Saturday and Sunday.

THE COURSE
•    Taconic Golf Club, a 5,826-yard par-71 layout built in 1927, has hosted three USGA Championships and four NCAA Championships in its storied history.
•    Taconic also was recently ranked No. 3 on the top campus courses you can play list by Golfweek.

2025 WILLIAMS INVITATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
•    Babson shot 315-311 to finish 10th among 20 teams at 58-over par at Taconic Golf Club on September 27-28, 2025.
•    Sophomore Katie Yang posted rounds of 74-76 to tie for 11th place at 8-over 150 and junior Hannah McCarthy shot 79-76 to grab a share of 32nd position at 13-over 155 for the Beavers, who tied for fifth in the field in par-3 scoring average (3.45).

ABOUT THE BEAVERS
•    Babson is coming off a seventh place in the Polar Bear Shootout in its first 36-hole tournament under first-year head coach Alexander Jones at Brunswick Golf Club on September 12-13.
•    Yang closed with a round of 1-over 74 to tie for 11th place at 3-over 149, first-year Anita Wang opened with an even-par 73 on the way to tying for 19th position at 5-over 151 and junior Camila Amaya fired a 1-under 72 to open the tournament and tied for 29th place at 7-over 153 for the Beavers, who ended the first round in a three way tie for third place just two strokes off the lead.
•    Wang leads the Green and White with a 75.33 stroke average over three rounds this fall, Yang (75.67) has posted five consecutive rounds of 78 or better going back to last April and Amaya is third on the squad with a 77.33 scoring average.
•    Sophomore Vanya Bansal owns a 78.67 average over three rounds this fall and first-year Francesca Choquette (79.00) tied for 40th at the Polar Bear Shootout for Babson, which owns a 308.00 team scoring average over its first three rounds.

TACONIC TRENDS
•    Yang's 11th-place finish and her 36-hole score of 8-over 150 are the best by any Babson player in three tournaments at Taconic Golf Club going back to the fall of 2024.
•    The Beavers 36-hole total of 326 at last September's event is their lowest in three tournaments at Taconic GC.
•    Babson's best score of 305 in the opening round of the 2025 Williams Invitational is its best in six rounds at Taconic GC.

ABOUT THE FIELD
•    This weekend's 14-team field features eight programs that finished among the top 25 in last year's final Scoreboard Division III rankings.
•    Past winners Amherst (2025), Wellesley (2024) and Williams (2023) were all among the top 15 in the final Scoreboard rankings last spring, while Middlebury (10th), Wesleyan (13th), Bowdoin (18th), Babson (24th) and UC Santa Cruz (25th) joined them in the top 25.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
•    The Beavers own a 314.00 team scoring average over the last two seasons at the Williams Invitational with their lowest score (305) coming in the first round of the 2024 tournament at Taconic GC.
•    Yang's 3-over 74 in the first round of last year's tournament is the team's lowest score in four trips to Taconic, while Amaya, McCarthy and junior Jennie Pan each carded a 76 over the last two years.
•    Six teams broke 300 in at least one of two rounds at last year's Williams Invitational after just three posted a round of 299 or better in 2024.

UP NEXT
•    The Beavers travel to Rome, N.Y., for the Hamilton Invitational on October 3-4.
