BRUNSWICK, Maine—Sophomore Katie Yang (Orlando, Fla.) closed with a 1-over 74 to finish in a tie for 11th place as the Babson College women's golf team came in seventh at the Polar Bear Shootout at Brunswick Golf Club on Sunday. 

The Beavers shot an 18-over 310 as a team in the final round to post a 36-hole total of 24-over 608. Middlebury finished with a 1-under 291 on Sunday to record a five-shot victory over Bowdoin with a 36-hole score of 4-over 588. Amherst (595), Hamilton (597) and Williams (598) rounded out the top five. 

Yang, who started on the 15th hole, opened her round with three consecutive birdies to get under par for the tournament before making bogeys at Nos. 1, 4 and 6. She answered another bogey at the par-4 10th hole with a birdie at No. 12 before giving back a shot on the 13th hole to finish the tournament in a tie for 11th position at 3-over 149. 

After firing an even-par 73 in Saturday's first round, first-year Anita Wang (Phoenix, Ariz.) was 2-under through her first 13 holes before making an 11 at the par-4 10th hole. Despite the hiccup, she parred the final four holes to post a 5-over 78 on the way to grabbing a share of 19th place with a 36-hole total of 151. 

Junior Camila Amaya (Singer Island, Fla.) made a pair of birdies and followed up her first round 72 with an 8-over 81 to earn a share of 29th place at 7-over 153 for the weekend. Sophomore Francesca Choquette (New York, N.Y.) made nine pars over her first 10 holes and followed up a first round 78 with a 6-over 79 to finish in a tie for 40th at 11-over 157. 

Sophomore Vanya Bansal (Noida, India) also was just 1-over through her first 10 holes but came home in 5-over to shoot at 79 that left her in a tie for 49th position at 12-over for the tournament. Senior Laura Lu (Chengdu, China), who was competing in the event as an individual, bounced back from Saturday's 80 with a 3-over 76 that included a pair of birdies. She posted a 36-hole score of 10-over 156 to finish in a tie for 36th. 

Babson returns to action on September 26-27 when it travels to Taconic Golf Club for the Williams Invitational. 

TOURNAMENT NOTES
•    The Beavers' 36-hole score of 608 is their second lowest in four appearances at the Polar Bear Shootout behind only the 22-over 606 they posted in 2024. 
•    Babson finished second in the 14-team field in par-3 scoring at 10-over and was also fourth in par-5 scoring at 1-under par. 
•    Wang tied for second in par-5 scoring at 3-under, while Yang tied for third in par-3 scoring at even-par. 
•    Wang (25) and Choquette (24) tied for sixth and ninth, respectively, in pars, and Wang's four bogeys over 36 holes were tied for the second fewest in the 85-player field.
