NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Bracket
BABSON PARK, Mass.—After capturing its fourth straight New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championship on Saturday, the Babson College men's lacrosse team was selected as one of eight second and third round hosts when the 40-team Division III NCAA Tournament field was announced on Sunday night.
The Beavers (16-2), who finished at No. 3 in the NCAA Power Index (NPI), return to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth year in a row, fifth time in the past six seasons and sixth time in program history after defeating MIT, 15-9, in Saturday's NEWMAC final. Under the direction of eighth-year head coach
Rocky Batty, Babson advanced to the second round of the Division III championship last May after reaching the third round in both 2023 and 2024.
Babson will take on the winner of Wednesday's first round contest between Massachusetts Maritime Academy (15-2) and Husson University (12-4) in the first of two second round contests at 12 p.m. on Saturday at MacDowell Field. Both the Buccaneers, who won the Little East Conference, and the Eagles, who claimed their first North Atlantic Conference title, will be making their first trip to the NCAA Tournament.
The other second round contest will feature No. 15 Hamilton College (9-7), which is making its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2003, taking on No. 20 St. Lawrence University (11-6). The Saints are back in the national tournament for the third year in a row and 16th time in school history.
The second round winners will meet in Sunday's third round at 3 p.m.
