Women's Golf at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational

WHAT TO KNOW
• The Babson women's golf team travels to southeast Georgia to compete in the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational for the first time in program history beginning on Thursday.
• The 54-hole event features 18 holes on Thursday, Friday and Saturday on the Great Dunes Course, 5,613-yard par-72 layout, for the first time after previously being played on the Indian Mound Course.
• In addition to the Collegiate Invitational, the Beavers have two players taking part in the Indian Mound Invitational on the 5.600-yard par-72 Indian Mound Course, which features 16 competitors from eight different schools.
ABOUT THE BEAVERS
• Babson will tee it up that Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational for the first time since winning the inaugural Colonial Women's Golf Conference (CWGC) Championship back in late October at Wyncote Golf Club in Oxford, Pa.

Katie Yang (+15) secured four of the top five spots on the individual leaderboard for the Beavers, who shot an opening round 306 to build a 20-stroke lead and battled high winds in round two to post a 19-shot victory over second place Christopher Newport.
• Bansal (76.38) owns a pair of top-10 finishes and was Babson's top scorer in three of four fall events, McCarthy is second on the team with a 78.00 stroke average and Yang finished the fall with a 78.50 scoring average and a pair of top-15 results in three tournaments.
• The Green and White owns a 312.00 stroke average in eight rounds this season and has posted a score of 309 or lower four times.
BABSON IN THE SCOREBOARD RANKINGS
• The Beavers enter the tournament at No. 23 in the latest Scoreboard Division III rankings released on Wednesday.
• Bansal (78th) and Yang (79th) are both ranked among the top 80 players in Division III, while McCarthy is currently 121st.
• Babson is one of eight teams in the east region currently among the top 25 in the Scoreboard rankings.
STRONG FIELD MEETS IN JEKYLL ISLAND
• Regularly one of the strongest tournaments of the season, this year's Jekyll Island Collegiate features 24 teams, 22 of which are ranked among the top 50 in the latest Division III Scoreboard rankings.
• Eight of the nation's top 10 teams are set to tee it up, including No. 1 Emory, No. 2 Carnegie Mellon, No. 3 NYU, No. 4 Pomona-Pitzer, No. 6 Amherst, No. 8 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, No. 9 Randolph-Macon and No. 10 Redlands, and 15 of the 24 programs are ranked among the top 25.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• Bansal's 2-under 71 in the first round of the Polar Bear Shootout back on October 4 was the lowest in relation to par in program history.
• The Beavers have had at least one player shoot 74 or better in five of their last seven rounds.
• Babson has played just two 54-hole tournaments over the first two seasons of the program shooting 888 to win the 2025 Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate and 950 to finish as the runner-up in the same event in 2024.
