Women's Soccer Hosts Mount Holyoke Saturday, Middlebury Sunday at Hartwell-Rogers Field

WHAT TO KNOW

•    The Babson women's soccer team kicks off a three-game homestand at Hartwell-Rogers Field when it takes on NEWMAC foe Mount Holyoke at 12 p.m. on Saturday and Middlebury in its final non-conference match of the season on Sunday at noon. 

SERIES HISTORY
vs. Mount Holyoke

•    Babson is 33-10-1 all-time against the Lyons in a series that dates back to 1982.
•    The Beavers have won nine consecutive matches and are unbeaten in 13 straight (12-0-1) versus Mount Holyoke going back to 2013. 
•    The Green and White has outscored the Lyons 33-3 during its current nine-game winning streak but escaped South Hadley, Mass., with a 1-0 victory last season thanks to an 85th-minute penalty kick by sophomore Lindsey Cassady despite a 57-2 edge in shots. 

vs. Middlebury
•    Babson is 0-1-1 all-time against the Panthers in a series that goes back to 2023. 
•    The sides battled to a 0-0 draw in Middlebury, Vt., on October 13, 2024, after the Panthers defeated the Beavers, 2-1, on October 8, 2023, in Babson Park. 

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
•    Babson (4-4-3, 1-0-3 NEWMAC) is unbeaten in six consecutive matches and has recorded back-to-back draws in league play following Wednesday's 0-0 result at Clark. 
•    Senior goalkeeper Callahan Cottone made a season-high five saves and classmate Priscilla-Rose Men-Martin and junior Josie Lee both hit the crossbar for the Beavers, who finished with a 19-17 edge in shots. 
•    Men-Martin (4-1-9) and sophomore Izzy Lee (4-1-9) have combined for all five of the squad's goals in conference play, junior Lillian McAughan (2-1-5) has scored twice over the last five matches and Cassady and junior Mack Feeney are tied for the team lead with two assists apiece. 
•    Cottone has started all 11 matches and is 4-4-2 with a 0.71 goals against average, a .828 save percentage and three shutouts, while sophomore Maisie Creamer is 0-0-1 with a 1.25 goals against average and a .792 save percentage in eight appearances. 

SCOUTING THE LYONS
•    Mount Holyoke (3-5-3, 0-3-1 NEWMAC) is winless over its last four games but picked up its first point of the year in conference play with a 1-1 draw against Smith on Wednesday night. 
•    Sage Hudson converted a feed from Addy Grant to open the scoring in the 40th minute and Emma Zoubok made six of her nine saves in the second half for the Lyons, who have been outscored 19-1 over their first four NEWMAC matches. 
•    Hudson (9-1-19) has scored in three of the last four games and ranks second in the NEWMAC in points, while Grant (1-2-4), Kiki Brozgal (1-2-4), Elin Lindgren-Palm (1-2-4) and Heidi Smith (1-2-4) are tied for first on the team in assists and second in points. 
•    Zoubok has started 10 of 11 matches and is 3-4-3 with a 2.20 goals against average and a .789 save percentage to go along with one shutout. 

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
•    Middlebury (3-1-4), which visits third-ranked Tufts on Saturday, is unbeaten over its last seven matches following last Saturday's 2-2 draw against No. 8 Colby. 
•    Chloe Swindle, who finished with a goal and an assist, and Mariana Rode scored less than six minutes apart to build a 2-0 lead in the 31st minute for the Panthers, who got seven second-half saves from Frankie Marston. 
•    Taya McClennen (3-1-7) and Noelle Mallory (2-3-7) are tied for the team lead in points, Swindle (2-2-6) and Rode (2-1-5) have produced points in back-to-back games, and Fiona Linnau (2-0-4) leads the squad with a pair of game-winning goals. 
•    Marston has started all eight games and owns a 1.13 goals against average and a .816 save percentage to go along with three clean sheets this fall. 

SENIOR CELEBRATION
•    Prior to the start of Saturday's match, Babson will honor its senior class of Cottone, Men-Martin, Claudia Baiter, Ally Clarkson, Jadyn Mapura, Olga Metelkine, Janiaya Ocampo, Caroline Sutherland and Kendall Young. 
•    The Beavers' senior class has helped the program go 32-23-16 over the last four seasons while recording three straight top-four finishes in the NEWMAC regular season standings, to go along with appearances in the conference tournament final and the NCAA Tournament in 2023. 

HISTORY LESSONS
•    Babson is unbeaten through its first four NEWMAC games for the third time in four seasons and eighth time dating back to 2008. 
•    The Green and White started 5-0 last fall and 4-0-1 in 2023 in addition to earning a result in its first four league matches in 2008, 2010, 2011, 2014 and 2015. 
•    The Beavers have played to a draw in three consecutive conference matches for the first time since 2015 when they tied Mount Holyoke 1-1 on September 19, Smith 1-1 on September 26 and WPI 2-2 on September 29. All three contests were decided in double overtime. 

BEAVER BITES
•    Izzy Lee has produced at least a point in five of the last six matches going back to September 19. 
•    During the Beavers' six-game unbeaten streak, Cottone has conceded just one goal while stopping 15 of 16 shots for a .938 save percentage. 
•    Baiter, Cottone and Izzy Lee are the only players to start each of Babson's first 11 matches this fall. 
•    Seven different players have produced a goal and 13 players have at least one point on the season for the Green and White. 

NUMBERS TO KNOW
•    The Beavers are 4-0-1 on the year when leading at halftime and 0-4 when they trail after 45 minutes. 
•    Babson is 4-1-3 this fall when it concedes one goal or fewer. 
•    The Green and White has outscored its opponents 14-2 during its six-game unbeaten streak while posting four shutouts. 
•    The Beavers are 17-1-4 when scoring the first goal of the match over the last three seasons.
