COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Babson College junior midfielder
Penny Baroni (Dennis, Mass.) was selected as the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday morning.
Baroni exploded for 10 goals and three assists for 23 points as No. 18 Babson recorded three blowout victories. She nearly doubled her season scoring output and was involved in 13 of the Beavers' 18 goals over three games while earning NFHCA Division III Offensive Player of the Week accolades for the second time in her career.
Baroni scored a career-high four goals in last Tuesday's 6-0 rout of Springfield and then totaled a career-best eight points for the second game in a row, finishing with three goals and two assists in last Saturday's 6-1 victory at Salve Regina. She capped the week by producing her third consecutive hat trick to go along with an assist for seven points in a 6-0 triumph over Ithaca on Sunday.
A 2025 NFHCA All-America second-team selection, Baroni leads the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) in scoring with 20 goals and eight assists for 48 points this fall. She also ranks 16th in Division III in goals per game (1.11) and 12th in points per game (2.67), and is just two points shy of becoming just the fifth player in program history to total 50 points in a season.
Baroni currently owns a five-game scoring streak and has provided 15 goals and five assists over the Beavers' last nine games.
No. 18 Babson (12-6, 7-1 NEWMAC) concludes the regular season at Wheaton on Saturday at 12 p.m.
