Isabella Allen (Williamsville, N.Y.) led all players with 13 kills, junior
Zoe Ackerman (Aurora, Colo.) finished with 39 assists, seven digs, six kills and four blocks, and visiting Babson College won the longest set in program history on the way to defeating Lasell University in three sets, 38-36, 25-22, 25-23, in non-conference women's volleyball action on Friday night.
Babson, which snapped a two-match losing streak, improved to 5-3 on the year while dropping Lasell to 8-1 overall.

Hailey Fouche (Montclair, N.J.) and first-year
Devon Burke (Newtonville, Mass.) both recorded eight kills and junior
Angelina Holm (Denver, Colo.) and first-year
Ailsa Munro (Sylmar, Calif.) added seven kills apiece for the Beavers. Holm and junior
Nora Whitehurst (Atlanta, Ga.) each contributed three blocks, while Fouche and senior
Sophia Shaw (Novato, Calif.) had seven digs.
Senior Morgan Bogli (Rockville, Conn.) finished with 11 kills, four aces and four blocks, while sophomore Trinity Silva (Atascadero, Calif.) and junior Shantte Siliezar (Puerto Cortes, Honduras) chipped in with nine kills apiece to pace the Lasers. Senior Sydney Katz (Ridgefield, Conn.) handed out 22 assists and classmate Maddie Caro (San Diego, Calif.) led all players with 10 digs in the loss.
The opening stanza featured 20 ties and 10 lead changes with the teams combining for 46 kills and a blistering .351 hitting percentage. A kill by Munro gave the Green and White its largest lead at any point in the match at 23-19 only to see Lasell pull back within one thanks to a kill by Silva and back-to-back blocks by sophomore Michelle French (Groton, Mass.).
The Lasers fought off four set points before taking a 27-26 lead on an ace by Bogli and then had three set points of their own with the last coming at 34-33 on a kill by Siliezar. The Beavers regained a 35-34 edge on a block by Ackerman and Holm and went up 37-36 thanks to a pair of kills by Allen before closing out the set on a block by Fouche and Munro.
Game two had 15 ties and five lead changes with neither team leading by more than three. Burke recorded a pair of kills in the span of four points to put Babson in front 21-19 and followed up a kill by Brogli with her fifth of the stanza to make it 22-20. The hosts scored consecutive points to pull even but Whitehurst and Ackerman broke the deadlock with a block and Allen recorded back-to-back kills to take a two-set advantage.
The Beavers raced out to a 9-5 lead in game three thanks to three aces by Shaw and two kills by Burke only to see the Lasers score nine of the next 12 points to go in front 14-12. Burke's final kill of the match put the visitors in front for good at 20-19, kills by Allen and Munro helped push the lead to 24-21, and Fouche and Munro combined for a match-ending block after Lasell had pulled within one.
Babson returns to action on Saturday when it hosts the University of New England at 1 p.m., while Lasell travels to Simmons on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
MATCH NOTES
• The Beavers are 12-1 all-time against Lasell and have won seven consecutive matches in the series going back to 2008.
• Prior to Friday's first set, Babson's longest was a 34-32 win over UMass Boston in 2001 and WPI in 2004, and a 34-32 loss to Mount Holyoke in 2003.
• The Green and White has now won the opening set in seven of its eight matches this fall.
• Babson recorded a season-high 55 kills and finished with at least 10 service aces for the fifth consecutive match.
