Anderson Earns First College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Award for Men's Tennis

CSC Men's Tennis Academic All-America Release

AUSTIN, Texas—
Babson College men's tennis senior Brady Anderson (Rochester, N.Y.) made history when he was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America second team on Wednesday.

Anderson, who put together the best season of his career in 2024-25, earned the first CSC Academic All-America honor in program history. He also is the eighth athlete in department history to garner the prestigious award joining Eric Bottern '24 of men's track and field, Stephanie Balouras '97 and Claire Middlebrook MSF '23 of women's soccer, baseball's Sean Harrington '20, MacIntyre Henderson '20 of men's alpine skiing, softball's Maya Lacy '16 and Justin Laurenzo '15 of men's soccer, who is the Beavers' lone first-team honoree.

Since 1952, CSC (formerly CoSIDA) has honored more than 20,000 outstanding student-athletes across the NCAA. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve and maintain a GPA of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale.

A CSC Academic All-District selection back in May, Anderson set new career highs in both singles and doubles victories on the way to earning New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Player of the Year and first-team all-conference honors.  He was unbeaten in league play and went 14-12 overall in singles, which includes a 9-3 mark at number two, and 21-7 in doubles with 13 of his wins coming at number two.

Anderson was one of four players to surpass the previous single-season Babson records of 16 doubles wins and 30 combined singles and doubles wins during the 2024-25 campaign.

Anderson was terrific in the postseason, going 2-1 in singles and 3-1 in doubles play as the Beavers captured their first NEWMAC championship since 2021 before advancing to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals for the first time in school history. He recorded a victory at number two singles in Babson's 4-3 win over No. 8 Bowdoin in the Brunswick Regional final and paired with first-year Sebastian Mendoza (Weston, Fla.) to secure the doubles point at number one in the team's hard-fought 4-1 loss to No. 1 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the national quarterfinals.

One of the top players in school history, Anderson ranks fourth in program history with 91 combined singles and doubles wins. His 51 doubles victories rank fourth all-time and his 40 singles triumphs are good for seventh in school history.

A two-time All-NEWMAC selection in both singles and doubles, Anderson was a part of two of the most successful seasons in Babson history. The Beavers won a then-school-record 17 matches during the 2022-23 campaign before going 22-3 during a historic 2024-25 campaign. He graduated with a 3.90 grade-point average with a concentration in finance back on May 17.
