Three from Women's Track & Field Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

BABSON PARK, Mass.—Babson College women's track & field senior Angela Hagstrom (Portsmouth, N.H.) and sophomores Colleen Corman (Quaker Hill, Conn.) and Maddie Stoltz (Somers, Conn.) received College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors on Tuesday afternoon.

Since 1952, CSC (formerly CoSIDA) has honored more than 20,000 outstanding student-athletes across the NCAA. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have  at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and ranked among the top 50 in the region in at least one event in indoor or outdoor track & field, or among the top 50 finishers at cross country regionals.

Hagstrom, Corman and Stoltz were all recognized for the first time in their respective careers.

Hagstrom competed in four events and her time of 1:01.80 in the 400 meters achieved at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships in late April ranked 38th in the East Region. She also helped the Beavers record their top times of the year in both the 4x100-meter relay (49.98) and the 4x400-meter relay (4:12.25), and both marks ranked among the top 15 in the region.

A two-time All-NEWMAC and four-time all-region honoree, Hagstrom leaves Babson as the school-record holder in the 400 meters (1:00.57) as well as the 4x100- and 4x400-meter relays. She also earned academic all-conference honors back in May.

Corman put together another terrific season that that included earning all-region accolades at the New England Division III Championships with a time of 1:07.21 in the 400-meter hurdles. She also finished third in the same event at the conference meet and recorded her top time of the season in the 400 hurdles (1:06.22), which ranked 11th in the East Region, at the Farley Inter Regional at Williams on May 10.

Stoltz ranked 19th on the East Region performance list in the heptathlon with her score of 2780 at the Connecticut College Silfen Invitational on April 11-12 and also was 48th with a throw of 89-feet, 9-inches in the javelin at the Sean Collier Invitational at MIT on April 19. She recorded the top marks of her career in both the javelin and the 100-meter dash, and placed seventh in the heptathlon at the NEWMAC Championships.
