Box Score CLAREMONT, Calif.—Top-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps rallied from dropping the doubles points with four straight-set victories in singles and defeated 12th-ranked Babson College, 4-1, in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals on Monday night at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center.

The Green and White drew first blood by claiming the doubles point with wins at Nos. 1 and 3. Senior Brady Anderson (Rochester, N.Y.) and first-year Sebastian Mendoza (Weston, Fla.) followed by recording the only break of their match at number one to edge the Stags' 14th-ranked pairing of first-years Caleb Settles (Claremont, Calif.) and Brandon Vu (Chino Hills, Calif.) 6-4 to clinch the doubles point.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps' 15th-ranked pairing of junior Advik Mareedu (Yorba Linda, Calif.) and sophomore Josh Kim (Hong Kong, China) were 6-2 winners over Babson's duo of junior Alexander Merson (Palisades Park, N.J.) and sophomore Louis Bourn (Geneva, Switzerland) at number two.

Five of the six singles matches were tight midway through the opening set before the Stags seized control. Mareedu, the top-ranked player in Division III, pulled away for a 6-4, 6-0 win over Anderson at number one, while Kim broke away from a 3-3 deadlock in the first and rallied from 3-1 down in the second to beat Zhang 6-3, 6-4 at number four giving the hosts a 2-1 advantage.
