Women's Lacrosse Lands Five on IWLCA All-Region Squad

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass.—Five members of the Babson College women's lacrosse program were recognized when the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced its Division III all-region teams on Friday afternoon.

Graduate student Eileen Manning (Needham, Mass.) and seniors Clare Connolly (Hanover, Mass.) and Amelia Novitch (Dover, Mass.) were all named to the IWLCA Berkshire Region first team, while seniors Jessica Evans (Southbury, Mass.) and Kathleen Murphy (Scarborough, Maine) both garnered second-team laurels. All five players were honored for the second consecutive season and the trio of Connolly, Manning and Murphy claimed the third all-region award of their respective careers.

A three-year starter for the Beavers, Manning concluded her career with a team-high 27 caused turnovers to go along with 22 ground balls in 19 games this spring. She recorded at least two forced turnovers in nine contests and was the lynchpin for a defense that allowed just 8.53 goals on the year.

Manning, who started 61 of 71 career games, ranks sixth in program history with 96 caused turnovers while scooping up 113 ground balls.

Connolly, who was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Player of the Year last week, set new career highs with 59 goals and four assists for 63 points to go along with a single-season program record 243 draw controls in 19 starts this spring. She produced three or more goals in 11 contests, recorded a .602 shooting percentage and secured at least 10 draw controls on 10 occasions.

Additionally, Connolly ranked second in Division III with a career-best 12.17 draw controls per game.

Connolly is the all-time Division III leader and ranks second in NCAA history with 766 draw controls, while scoring 117 goals and contributing 11 assists for 128 points in 78 career games. She was the NCAA statistical champion for draw controls in both 2023 and 2024, and is the only player in Division III history to win 200 or more draws in three consecutive seasons.

Novitch put together the best offensive season of her career in 2025 with career highs of 43 goals and 42 assists for a career-best 85 points. She totaled five or more points nine times, scored three or more goals in seven contests and dished out at least three assists on eight occasions while concluding her career with a 34-game points streak that dates back to March of last year.

Additionally, Novitch's 85 points rank seventh in single-season program history and her 42 assists are the most by a Babson player since 2017 and the second highest total in school history.

A starter in 59 of her 66 career games, Novitch produced 120 goals and 78 assists for 198 points. She ranks fourth in program history in assists, is teid for 11th in points and graduates 15th all-time in goals.

A do-it-all midfielder, Evans earned her first All-America award after producing 29 goals and 10 assists for 39 points and setting new career highs with 33 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers. She produced eight multi-goal games and was second on the team in free-position goals (11), ground balls and caused turnovers. Additionally, Evans was third on the squad with 30 draw controls.

A three-year starter, Evans finished her career with 107 goals and 36 assists for 143 points to go along with 132 draw controls, 94 ground balls and 46 caused turnovers in 79 career games.

A four-year starter for the Beavers, Murphy went 58-21 with a 9.33 goals against average and a .437 save percentage to go along with 512 saves in 79 career games. She ranks first in program history in wins and minutes played (4244:46), third in goals against average, fourth in total saves and sixth in save percentage.
