Stasiowska, Kamal from Women’s Tennis Earn CSC Academic All-District Recognition

BABSON PARK, Mass.— Junior Kamila Stasiowska (Burlington, Conn.) and sophomore Dana Kamal (Cairo, Egypt) of the Babson College women's tennis program were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team on Tuesday afternoon.

Both student-athletes were recognized by CSC for the first time in their careers, and are now eligible for the Academic All-America teams, which will be announced next month.

Since 1952, CSC has honored more than 40,000 outstanding student-athletes across the NCAA. To be eligible, a tennis student-athlete maintain a GPA of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale and must be in the lineup for 70 percent of an institution's days of competition.

A Business major, Stasiowska finished with a 9-7 record in singles and a 5-3 mark in doubles this year. She was 4-2 against opponents from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) and went 5-6 overall at fifth singles and 2-2 at sixth singles. She was 3-3 at third doubles in dual matches and 2-0 in the top flight. A three-time Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar All-America, Stasiowska was All-Conference in singles in 2023 and boasts a career record of 31-23 in singles and 27-17 in doubles.

A Finance and Entrepreneurship major, Kamal was a regular in the doubles line-up this year for the Beavers. She finished with an 8-11 record, including 7-6 in dual matches and 3-1 against conference opponents. She also went 5-4 in singles competition, including 3-2 in dual matches and 3-0 against NEWMAC foes. A 2024 ITA Scholar All-America, Kamal has career records of 9-4 in singles and 16-15 in doubles.

No. 14 Babson finished runner-up in the NEWMAC Tournament and earned an at-large berth into the NCAA Division III Tournament, advancing to the second round before finishing the season with a 15-7 overall record.
