SERIES HISTORY
• Babson owns just four wins in 63 all-time matches against MIT in a series that dates back to the 1983-84 campaign.
• The Beavers snapped a three-match losing streak in the series earlier this month and two of their four wins in the all-time series have come over the last three seasons.
• Six of the last seven matches between the teams have been decided by three points or fewer.
POSTSEASON HISTORY
• Babson and MIT will meet for the 21st time in the conference playoffs and 17th time in the championship match on Monday going back to 1997 when both were members of the Constitution Athletic Conference (CAC).
• Each of the previous 20 postseason matches have been won by the Engineers, which includes eight victories in the NEWMAC final since 2013.
• The Green and White is seeking its first NEWMAC Tournament title since 2021, while MIT has claimed 24 conference titles over the last 25 tournaments.

Sebastian Mendoza all recorded wins in both singles and doubles to help the Beavers defeat MIT, 5-2, back on April 4 in Babson Park.
• Merson (No. 3), Zhang (No. 4) and Mendoza (No. 5) all won in straight sets, while Anderson was a 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (7-5) winner over Ryan Xiao after Babson had swept all three matches in doubles.
• Kailas Kahler was a 6-3, 6-0 winner at number one and Adam Sun rallied for a 1-6, 6-2, 6-4 victory at number three singles for the Engineers.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Top-seeded and 13th-ranked Babson (19-2) advanced to the NEWMAC final for the third year in a row thanks to a 7-0 win over fourth-seeded Clark on Friday.

Edward Wang all recorded straight-set singles victories following a sweep of the doubles matches to help the Beavers extend their winning streak to a season-best seven straight contests.
• Wang is 22-4 in all matches and 5-1 against league foes, Merson (16-5) and Mendoza (16-8) have both won 13 times in dual-match play, Anderson (13-11) boasts 11 victories at first and second singles, and Zhang is 13-2 overall with a 6-1 mark at number five.
• Lepsoe and Merson (10-2) have won six straight matches at number one doubles, Anderson and Mendoza have won six in a row to improve to 10-2 at number two and the duo of Zhang and Wang are 7-4 this spring at number three.
SCOUTING THE ENGINEERS
• Second-seeded MIT (10-9) has now advanced to the NEWMAC final in all 25 of its tournament appearances after breezing past third-seeded Springfield, 4-0, on Friday afternoon.
• Kahler was victorious at number one singles and number two doubles, Sun was a winner at number three singles and number one doubles, and Siddharth Marathe recorded a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at number four singles for the Engineers, who improved to 49-0 all-time in the NEWMAC Tournament.
• Marathe (10-1) owns a four-match winning streak, Shrish Choudhary is 8-6 with four victories at number four, Kahler (15-6) is ranked 22nd nationally and has gone 7-5 at number one, and the trio of Sun, Xiao and Grant Gallagher are all 6-6 this spring.
• Sun and Joseph Li are 6-8 overall and 3-3 at number one doubles, Kahler and Gallagher are 3-3 at number two and Choudary and Xiao (4-6) have dropped their last three decisions at number three doubles.
BEAVERS IN THE POSTSEASON
• Going back to 2013, Babson has advanced to the championship match 11 times in the last 12 NEWMAC Tournaments since 2013.
• The Beavers claimed their first conference tournament title since 1996 and first NEWMAC championship with a 5-3 win over Coast Guard in the pandemic-shortened 2021 campaign.
ANDERSON, MENDOZA CLAIM CONFERENCE RECOGNITION
• Babson's No. 2 doubles pairing was selected as the NEWMAC Doubles Team of the Week after going 3-0 to close out the regular season.
• Anderson and Mendoza topped Pierce Garbett and Aidan Wang-Fan of Brandeis 6-3, beat Alex Colon and Shunsuke Higuchi of Salve Regina 6-0 downed Tatsuya Kimoto and Waseem Sablon of Springfield 6-2 in last Saturday's regular season finale.
REWRITING THE RECORD BOOKS
• The Beavers have set a number of team and individual records during the 2024-25 campaign, which includes earning their highest national ranking in program history at No. 11 earlier this month and breaking the single-season record for wins with their 18th on Saturday at Springfield.
• Wang's 22 singles wins surpassed the previous mark set by David Weisman '98, who went 19-0 on the way to capturing the 1998 Division III singles national championship, while Merson (19), Anderson (19) and Lepsoe (18) have all surpassed the previous mark of 16 doubles victories in a season held by four players.
• Jon Martin's '05 record of 30 combined singles and doubles victories set back in 2003-04 has been surpassed by Wang (37), Merson (35), Anderson (32) and Mendoza (32) this season.
CRACKING THE RANKINGS
• Lepsoe and Merson were 24th nationally and sixth in the Northeast region when the ITA released its first Division III doubles rankings of the spring early last week.
• Merson is also the Beavers top-ranked singles player at 18th in the Northeast Region.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers have won their last six NEWMAC Tournament matches played in Babson Park dating back to 2018.
• Babson has won 14 straight matches on the Babson Tennis Courts going back to the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
• The Green and White has won 14 consecutive matches at number four singles and seven in a row at both second and sixth singles, and first and second doubles.
