NORTON, Mass.—Graduate student
Brant Savage (Charlton, Mass.) went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored to help visiting Babson College rally for a 7-5 win over Wheaton College in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) baseball action on Tuesday afternoon at Sidell Stadium.
With its sixth consecutive victory, Babson improves to 20-8 overall and 7-4 in conference play. Wheaton has dropped its last four games to slip to 16-15 overall and 8-5 in the NEWMAC.

Justin Guest (West Windsor, N.J.) singled twice, first-year
Gabe Cushner (Harrington Park, N.J.) homered and junior
Zander Teator (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) and sophomore
Ryan Liss (Hollywood, Fla.) both doubled and scored a run to lead the Beavers. Senior
Luke McClintock (South Hamilton, Mass.) recorded all four batters he faced, which included a pair of strikeouts, to improve to 2-0 with the win, while Teator closed out the win with his fifth save.
Senior Timmy Wagner (Hingham, Mass.) went 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI, while sophomore Robbie Lamond (North Kingstown, R.I.) homered and scored twice as part of a two-hit day to pace the Lyons. Senior Liam Goldthwaite (Braintree, Mass.) was tagged with the loss after giving up two runs in 0.2 innings to fall to 1-4 on the year.
Wagner drove in Lamond with a two-out base hit in the bottom of the first to put the hosts in front 1-0, but Cushner led off the second with his first career home run and sophomore
Alexander Wilson (Millburn, N.J.) reached on an error and later scored on graduate student
Jack Julian's (Manchester, Mass.) RBI ground out to put the Green and White in front 2-1.
Babson junior
James Clark (Northborough, Mass.) retired six consecutive batters before running into trouble in the fourth as Wheaton tied the game on back-to-back doubles by Wagner and senior Kevin Matos (Lawrence, Mass.) before going back in front 3-2 on a sacrifice fly by junior Ray Toth (Granby, Mass.). The Lyons got two more runs off of first-year
Chase Burrows (Cream Ridge, N.J.) in the last of the fifth as Lamond led off with a homer to left, while sophomore Casey Wensley (Raynham, Mass.) singled to center and came around to score on an RBI ground out by classmate Shawn Cali (East Taunton, Mass.) to extend its cushion to 5-2.
Junior Ben Oliveira (Somerset, Mass.) had retired 12 consecutive batters entering the top of the sixth, but Guest led off with a single back up the middle and Savage blasted his third homer of the year to left two batters later to cut the Beavers' deficit to 5-4. Junior Evan Mello (New Bedford, Mass.) came on in relief and retired all five batters he faced, while Goldthwaite got two quick outs to start the eighth before running into trouble.
Liss hit an opposite field double down the left field line and Savage followed by lining a 3-2 pitch to right field to bring him home to tie the game. Teator greeted junior Jack Kelleher-Mochak (Northampton, Mass.) with a double to deep left center off the glove of Matos that scored Savage with the go-ahead run, and later scored on an error to put the Green and White in front 7-5.
McClintock breezed through the eighth and Teator worked around a one-out infield single in the ninth to secure the victory.
Both teams return to action on Wednesday as Babson travels to UMass Boston at 3:30 p.m., while Wheaton hosts Tufts at 4 p.m.
GAME NOTES
• The Beavers are 39-58 all-time against Wheaton but have won five of the last six meetings between the teams.
• Guest extended his hitting streak to eight games, Teator has scored at least one run in six consecutive outings and Liss has reached base safely in 22 straight contests.
• Savage's 24 career home runs are tied for second in program history with Ryan Arena '18 and behind only Babson Hall of Famer Teddy Dziuba '06, who hit 28 career dingers.
• The Beavers are 5-4 this spring in games decided by one or two runs.
