BRUNSWICK, Maine—Senior
Alex Fascilla (Huntington, N.Y.) made a season-high 19 saves but No. 20 USILA/No. 20 USA Lacrosse Babson College suffered a 12-6 loss at No. 9 USILA/No. 9 USA Lacrosse in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Wednesday night at Pickard Field.
Babson, which had its two-game winning streak snapped, is now 6-3 on the year. Bowdoin, which bounced back from its first loss of the season on Saturday, improves to 7-1 overall.

Beck Trafton (Miami Beach, Fla.) combined to win 9-of-21 face-offs, while senior
Brendan Maher (Melrose, Mass.) finished with three ground balls and two caused turnovers in the loss.
Senior Patrick Fitzgerald (Chevy Chase, Md.) led all players with three goals and three assists for six points, sophomore Huck Trafton (York, MAine) scored three times and senior Jason Lach (Washington, D.C.) added two goals to pace the Polar Bears. Senior Beau Burns (Washington, D.C.) won 8-of-16 face-offs, first-year Brooks Kitchel (Baltimore, Md.) finished with four ground balls and two caused turnovers, and senior Robert Hobbs (Wayne, Pa.) made 15 saves in the victory.
Fascilla made eight first-quarter stops but the Green and White committed turnovers on its first three possessions and trailed 2-0 after sophomore Casey Ryan (San Diego, Calif.) scored with 3:35 to go in the stanza. Fitzgerald notched back-to-back goals just over a minute apart to make it 4-0 with 9:26 to go in the second and junior Sam Raye-Steiner (Chatham, Mass.) extended Bowdoin's lead to 5-0 with 8:07 to go before halftime.
Berardi got the Beavers on the board with his first goal of the night just 11 second later but Hobbs made a pair of saves late in the period to help the hosts maintain a four-goal advantage at the break. An early save by Fascilla helped set up Rooney's goal to make it 5-2 with 13:15 to go in the third, but Babson came up empty on its next possessions and Trafton and Fitzgerald followed with goals just 27 seconds apart as the Polar Bears extended the margin to 7-2 at the 9:30 mark of the third.
The Green and White got as close as four twice, the last time coming on Batty's first goal of the year with 3:04 remaining in the third. Fitzgerald set up Trafton with 1:08 to go in the frame and Lach converted a feed from Fitzgerald less than 90 seconds into the fourth as Bowdoin pushed its lead to 10-4.
The Polar Bears finished with the edge in shots on goal (31-21) and ground balls (31-25) and were a perfect 25-of-25 on clears. The Beavers went converted 21-of-23 clears and the only man-up chances of the game going 0-for-2.
Babson returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Wheaton at 12 p.m., while Bowdoin takes on Hamilton on Friday at 4 p.m.
GAME NOTES
• The Beavers, who have dropped three of the last four games in the series, and Bowdoin met with both teams ranked in the national polls for the third consecutive season on Wednesday night.
• Babson is now 2-1 on the year versus nationally-ranked foes and 1-2 against the NESCAC.
• Fascilla's 19 saves are his most since making 21 in a 13-6 win ove the Polar Bears last season.
• The Beavers have been held to seven goals or fewer in all three of their losses this spring.
