Box Score 2 CLAREMONT, Calif.—The 18th-ranked Babson College men's tennis team concluded a stretch of five matches in three days with victories over No. 33 Grinnell College and Whitman College on Tuesday evening.
The Beavers downed the Pioneers 6-1 and followed it up with a 7-0 sweep of the Blues.
Babson has won five consecutive matches to improve to 10-1 overall. Grinnell has dropped its last six decisions to slip to 4-6 on the year, while Whitman is now 8-6.

The Beavers took the doubles point by sweeping all three matches, highlighted by a 6-4 win at number one by senior
Ole Lepsoe (Oslo, Norway) and junior
Alexander Merson (Palisades Park, N.J.). Senior
Brady Anderson (Rochester, N.Y.) and first-year
Sebastian Mendoza (Weston, Fla.) were 6-3 winners at number two, while senior
Wesley Zhang (Staten Island, N.Y.) and first-year
Edward Wang (Burr Ridge, Ill.) outlasted the Pioneers' duo of Henry Park and Karch Kroll in a tiebreaker at number three, 7-6 (7-3).
Wang was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at number three singles, Merson cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at number four and Zhang posted a 6-2, 6-2 triumph at number five singles. Lepsoe split the first two sets at number two against Lucas Willett before pulling away in a third-set tiebreaker for a 6-2, 3-6, 10-2 win, while Mendoza bounced back from dropping the second set to defeat Sam Ruedenberg 6-3, 6-7 (6-8), 10-3 at number six.
Grinnell earned its lone point of the match at number one singles where Wilder Cook outlasted Anderson 6-4, 3-6, 13-11.

The Green and White swept all three doubles contests for the third time in its last five matches to take a 1-0 lead over the Blues. Lepsoe and Merson edged Noah Baker and Alexander Stage 7-6 (7-3) at number one, Anderson and Mendoza were 6-3 winners at number two and Zhang and sophomore
Louis Bourn (Geneva, Switzerland) recorded a 6-4 result at number three.
The Beavers won five of the six singles matches in straight sets with the lone three-set decision coming at number one where Anderson topped Stage 7-5, 2-6, 10-7. Merson was a 6-0, 6-3 winner at number two, Zhang recorded a 6-4, 6-3 victory at number three and Mendoza won 6-1, 6-2 at number four.
Bourn picked up his second victory of the match with a 6-0, 6-2 triumph at number five and sophomore
Mattias Harrell (Oslo, Norway) cruised to a 6-3, 6-2 win at number six.
Babson is off on Wednesday before returning to action on Thursday at 2:45 p.m. ET against No. 24 North Carolina Wesleyan in Claremont, Calif.
