SERIES HISTORY

•    Babson is 0-22 all-time against Tufts in a series that dates back to the 1994-95 season. 

LAST MEETING
•    Tufts defeated Babson, 7-2, at the Bass River Tennis Club in Beverly, Mass., on March 3, 2024. 
•    Senior Ole Lepsoe teamed with Caymus Choi to record an 8-5 win at number two doubles, while Kerem Ozlale was a 6-4, 6-3 winner at number four singles for the Beavers. 
•    Vuk Vuksanovic recorded victories at both number one doubles and number one singles for the Jumbos, who recorded four of their five singles wins in straight sets. 

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
•    No. 25 Babson (5-0) stayed unbeaten by rallying for a 4-3 win over No. 18 Rensselaer back on February 14. 
•    Senior Wesley Zhang, junior Alexander Merson and sophomore Louis Bourn all recorded wins in both singles and doubles for the Beavers, who secured the doubles point against the Engineers thanks to a 6-3 victory by Zhang and first-year Edward Wang at number two. 
•    Wang (13-1) suffered his first singles loss of the season at number two in the win over Rensselaer, first-year Sebastian Mendoza (7-5) and sophomore Mattias Harrell (7-2) both own four victories in dual-match play, and senior Brady Anderson (5-5) is 1-0 at number one and 2-0 at number two singles. 
•    Anderson and Wang are both 7-4 and lead the Green and White in doubles victories, Lepsoe (6-6) is 2-2 at number one doubles and Merson (6-3) and first-year Mason Nguyen (6-5) are both unbeaten in doubles this spring. 

SCOUTING THE JUMBOS
•    No. 3 Tufts (0-0), which will be making its spring debut, returns 11 players from a team that finished 18-7 after reaching the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals last season. 
•    Vuksanovic went 18-7 overall and 14-5 at number one singles, Javier Gonzalez led the team with 20 singles wins, which included a 17-5 mark at number two, and Lachie Macintosh went 15-7 with nine wins at number three. 
•    Sacha Maes went 24-7 in all doubles matches, Derin Acaroglu was 22-8 overall and 20-4 in dual matches, and Macintosh ended the 2024 campaign at 19-7, which included a 14-3 record at number two doubles. 
•    The Jumbos are coming off a successful fall that included Vuksanovic (singles) and Gonzalez and Stavros Mastrogamvrakis (doubles) claimed ITA New England titles, while Maes and Alex Ganchev captured the doubles title at the ITA Cup back in October. 

STREAKING BEAVERS
•    Harrell has won five consecutive singles matches, while Anderson has won his last four singles contests entering Sunday's clash with Tufts. 
•    The Beavers have won all five of their matches at number three singles, number six singles and number three doubles to begin the season. 
•    At 5-0, the Green and White is off to its best start since starting 7-0 during the pandemic-shortened 2021 campaign. 

WHAT'S NEW FOR 2024-25
•    The ITA and NCAA have adopted a new 7-point scoring format for dual matches this season that includes just one point for doubles. 
•    All doubles matches will be played to 6 points with a 7-point tiebreaker at 6-all. 
•    Singles matches will continue to be the best two-out-of-three sets. 

RUN OF RANKED FOES
•    Sunday's contest against Tufts marks the beginning of a stretch that has Babson playing six ranked opponents over its next seven matches. 
•    After taking on the Jumbos, the Beavers face No. 5 Middlebury, No. 32 Salisbury, No. 30 Grinnell, No. 22 North Carolina Wesleyan and No. 32 Chapman between March 16-21 during their spring break trip to southern California. 
•    The Green and White is 4-8 over the last two seasons against nationally-ranked foes.
