BABSON PARK, Mass.—Sophomore
David Krol (Grafton, Wis.) set program records in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events and Babson College captured first place in four of the 13 events but dropped the final men's swimming and diving dual meet of the season to Springfield College, 135-108, Saturday afternoon on Senior Day inside Morse Pool.
The Beavers wrap up the dual meet portion of the season with a 7-3 record, posting a winning record for the sixth time in the last seven seasons. Springfield won its sixth meet in a row to wind up the dual meets at 8-3.
Krol scored 342.30 points on the 1-meter board and 348.60 points on the 3-meter board, taking second place in both events. He broke his own program mark of 321.35 points on the low board set last season and eclipsed the score of 332.5 points by Aaron Paradis '10 set in 2008. First-year
Andrew Scapicchio (Milton, Mass.) also finished third in the 1-meter with a score of 248.25.
Sophomore
Anthony Taslakov (Sherborn, Mass.) led the Beaver swimmers with a pair of victories and first-years
Thomas Ambelang (Bernardsville, N.J.), and
William Iglar (Marietta, Ga.) won one event each. Taslakov touched the wall first in the 200 free in a season-best time of 1:43.50 and the 500 free in 4:51.28. Ambelang won the 200 backstroke in a time on 1:59.16, and Iglar was the top finisher in the 200 breaststroke in a season-best 2:08.66 as well as the second-place finisher in the 200 IM in 1:59.34. Iglar is now fifth on the all-time list of performers in program history in the 200 breast.
Seniors
Pat Anutarasoti (Bangkok, Thailand) and
Matthew D'Elia (Old Bridge, N.J.) produced second-place results for the Green and White. Anutarasoti was runner-up in the 50 free in a time of 21.62 seconds and D'Elia took second in the 200 fly in 1:57.61. First-year
Tommy Hannenian (Sacramento, Calif.) had third-place showings in the 100 free (48.53) and 200 free (1:48.83).

Nathan Huynh (Naperville, Ill.) in the 200 breast (2:11.75).
The Green and White had second and third place results in both relays. Ambelang, Huynh, Rhee and Anutarasoti were second in the 200 medley relay in 1:35.42, followed by first-year

Aidan Downey-Lamprey (Norwell, Mass.) in third in 1:38.86.

Tommy Hannenian (Sacramento, Calif.) and Anutarasoti took second in the 200 free relay in 1:26.59, with Spiridonov, Rhee, Hammen and Taslakov in third in 1:29.67.
Babson returns to action on Thursday, February 20, when it travels to Worcester, Mass., for the opening session of the four day NEWMAC Championships.
