NEW LONDON, Conn. —Junior
David Krol (Grafton, Wis.) brought home an eighth-place finish on the 1-meter board at the NCAA Division III Northeast/North Diving Regional held Saturday afternoon at Connecticut College's Lott Natatorium.
Krol finished with a score of 399.00 points, less than two points behind classmate Elias Brandt of Tufts, who finished seventh with a score of 400.80, and less than six points behind fellow junior Cameron Bizjak of Connecticut College, who placed sixth with a score of 405.65. Krol improved one spot on his ninth-place performance at last year's NCAA regionals.
Saturday's outcome came on the heels of Krol's ninth place performance in Friday's 3-meter event.
Junior Jay Wilkinson of Tufts captured the 1-meter title with a score of 479.55, and first-year Carter Cov of the Merchant Marine Academy (472.60) edged sophomore Calder Biondi of Williams (470.85), last year's champion, for second place.
