SENIOR DAY
• Babson Swimming and Diving will recognize the senior members of the teams on Saturday prior to the final home meet of the season against Springfield.
• The seniors on the men's squad include
Pat Anutarasoti, Matthew D'Elia, Aidan Downey-Lamprey, and
Brett Sheldrick while the women's contingent includes
Maggie Cassily, Audrey Daniels, Kendall Garvey, Sophia Silver, Elina Sung, and
Emily Tran.
SERIES HISTORY
• The Babson men have won six of the last seven meets against the Pride and are 9-14 overall in the series since 2001.
• The wins by the Springfield women over Babson in the last three years were the first three meets between the two teams since 1997.
LAST YEAR'S MEET
• Sophomore
Anthony Taslakov captured the 200 free and the 200 back and the Babson men won six events overall on the way to defeating Springfield, 134-103, on February 10, 2024 in Springfield.
• Anutarasoti (50 free) and sophomore
David Krol (1-meter diving) also posted victories for the Beavers. The Green and White won both relay races and finished second in eight events to earn the team victory.

Vera Belfonti '24 captured the 200 fly and
Sophia Swain '24 recorded second-place finishes in the 200 fly and 500 free as the Babson women fell to Springfield, 139-96.
• Three other Beavers posted second-place finishes in individual events, Garvey in the 1000 free, junior
Emma Chenski in the 200 free and Daniels in the 100 free.
SCOUTING THE BABSON MEN
• The Beavers (7-2) have won their last four dual meets, including a 190-44 rout of Bridgewater State back on January 25.
• The Green and White captured first place in all 13 events, led by Anutarasoti (200 free, 100 back), Taslakov (50 free, 100 fly), Krol (1-meter, 3-meter diving), and first-year
Nehemiah Rhee (100 breast, 200 IM).
• D'Elia was the first-place finisher in the 500 free, first-year
William Iglar earned first-place honors in the 100 free in 48.65 and took second in the 50, and classmate
Ilaan Garware won the 1,650 free.
SCOUTING THE BABSON WOMEN
• The Beavers (7-5) are coming off a tight 146-138 loss at crosstown rival Wellesley last Saturday.
• Garvey led the Beavers with victories in the 500 and 1000 freestyle events. First-years
Samantha Gilbert (200 free) and
Julia Netishen (50 free) and graduate student
Anya Pelshaw (100 fly) also produced first-place finishes for the Beavers.
• The Green and White also finished the meet with a first place in the 200 free relay, as Gilbert, Daniels, sophomore
Sylvie Racicot and Netishen outdistanced Wellesley for the win.
ABOUT THE PRIDE
• The Springfield men (7-3) bring a five-meet winning streak into the weekend after defeating Trinity, 166-75, last Saturday in the home finale.
• The Pride produced 10 wins in swimming events and sophomore Christian Butler swept both diving events. Leading the Springfield swimmers to victory were senior Ryan Goolsbey (500 free, 1000 free) and junior Dan Backlund (100 free, 200 free) along with seniors Luke Zonghetti (50 free), Jonathan Chan (100 fly) and Jordan McMillan (100 back) and graduate student Matthew Kenvin (100 breast).
• The Springfield women (7-5) have won their last four dual meets following last Saturday's 114-109 nailbiter over Trinity.
• The Pride produced wins in three swimming events and one in diving to edge out the Bantams. Senior Natalie Chamberlin registered a first-place finish in the 200-free, classmate Maddie Symecko posted a win in the 100-back and sophomore Natalie Norbut took the 500-free while junior Elizabeth Santos captured the 1-meter diving.
WINNING SEASONS
• The Beaver women are on their way to just their second winning season in dual meets since 1993-94. The seven victories this winter are the most since the 2019-20 squad finished 10-5, the most wins in program history.
• The Beaver men will have a winning season this winter for the sixth time in the last seven seasons.
SENIOR RECORDS
• The Babson seniors have made quite an impact on the program record books. Anutarasoti owns program records in the men's 50 breast (25.84), 100 breast (55.68) and 100 fly (49.08), and Garvey has set the standard in the women's 1,650 free (18:16.15).
• Downey-Lamprey and Anutarasoti are both among the members of the record-holding 200 and 400 free relay and 200 medley relay squads and Anutarasoti also swam on the record 400 medley relay team.
• Daniels is part of the women's program records in the 200 and 400 free and 200 medley relay squads.
ACADEMIC ACCOLADES
• The Beaver men's and women's squads were recognized for their hard work in the classroom by earning College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America team accolades on Monday.
• The Babson teams were among 781 programs from 459 institutions to earn CSCAA Scholar All-America team distinction during the fall 2024 semester. Babson's men posted a 3.46 grade-point average, while the women finished the term with a 3.38 team GPA.
• The Beaver squads have now garnered CSCAA Scholar All-America team honors in each of the last 14 semesters going back to the spring of 2017. For a team to be considered, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
NEWMAC HONORS
• Babson has been on the receiving end of weekly honors in recent weeks from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC).
• Garware and Krol were named Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week back on January 27, and Anutarasoti and Krol were honored with the same awards on January 20.
UP NEXT
• The teams will prepare for the NEWMAC Championships, which will take place from February 20-23 at WPI's Sports and Recreation Center in Worcester.
