SPRINGFIELD, Mass. —Sophomore David Krol (Grafton, Wis.) registered an impressive eighth place finish on the 3-meter board at the NCAA Division III Northeast/North Diving Regional held Friday afternoon at Springfield College's Linkletter Natatorium.

Krol finished with a score of 442.80 points, finishing just five points behind senior Brendan Griffiths of the US Merchant Marine Academy, who registered 447.90. Krol improved on his performance at last year's NCAA regionals, when he scored 395.40 points and placed 14th.

Sophomore Haochen Liu of Williams captured first place with a score of 517.10, with classmate Cameron Bizjak of Connecticut College (496.25) and first-year Calder Biondi of Williams (478.10) rounding out the top three.

The Beaver sophomore is led by Babson diving coach Liz McQuaid.

The meet continues on Saturday with the 1-meter event, beginning at 12 p.m.
