Anthony Taslakov (Sherborn, Mass.) and sophomores
Dom Crisafulli (Natick, Mass.),
Nathan Huynh (Naperville, Ill.) and
Nehemiah Rhee (Paramus, N.J.) each recorded a first-place finish in Friday's finals as the Babson College men's swimming & diving team sits in second place through eight events at the Fisher Invitational.
The Beavers totaled 452 points on Friday and are just 27 points behind first-place Roger Williams (479). Wheaton is third with 286 points and Eastern Connecticut State is fourth after day one of the meet with 161 points.
Taslakov came in first in the prelims and then shaved nearly two seconds off his time to touch the wall first in the finals of the 500 free in 4:40.43. Rhee posted a time of 1:53.68 to win the 200 butterfly after placing first in Friday morning's prelims, and Crisfulli was more than two seconds faster in the in the final of the 200 IM recording a time of 1:55.81 to win after coming in fourth in the prelims.
Huynh posted the fastest time in the 100 breaststroke in the prelims by nearly a second and then held off first-year teammate
Matthias McFarlane (Trumbull, Conn.) to finish first in Friday night's finals with a time of 56.55. McFarlane was just 0.08 seconds behind him in second with a time of 56.63, while sophomore
William Iglar (Marietta, Ga.) came in third with a time of 58.54.
Iglar also finished as the runner-up in the 200 IM with a time of 1:56.13, sophomore
Thomas Ambelang (Bernardsville, N.J.) took second in the finals of the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:56.64 and first-year
Evan Hong (Longmeadow, Mass.) placed second in the 100 free with a time of 46.61. Sophomore
Liam Maloney (Tampa, Fla.) finished third in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:58.10, senior
Marcelo Carrion (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) came in fourth in the 200 IM (1:57.63) and sophomore
Tommy Hannenian (Sacramento, Calif.) placed fourth in the 100 free after touching the wall with a time of 47.60 in the prelims and 47.83 in the finals.

Phillip Spiridonov (Ridgewood, N.J.) and first-year
Wyatt Amos (Gloucester, Mass.) finished sixth and eighth, respectively, in the 200 backstroke, while McFarlane and sophomore
Ryan Furudera (Tokyo, Japan) came in sixth and eighth in the 100 free. First-year
Josh Adler (Merrimac, Mass.) also recorded an eighth-place finish in the A final of the 500 free.
The Beavers also recorded a pair of first-place finishes in the B finals. Hong registered a time of 4:49.63 to touch the wall first in the 500 free, while Taslakov highlighted the Green and White sweeping the top three spots in the B final of the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:00.56. Carrion was the runner-up in 1:00.62 and sophomore
Chengetai Zamchiya (Cheverly, Md.) was just over a tenth of a second behind him in third with a time of 1:00.76.
Ambelang, Huynh, Rhee and Hong won the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:24.82, while the quartet of Hong, Hannenian, Rhee and McFarlane took third in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:26.27.
The final day of the Fisher Invitational gets started with prelims at 10 a.m. Saturday's finals session will begin at 4 p.m.
